Is this commonplace? I've never heard of people not tipping on Sundays.

In undergrad we'd always give our delivery guy a beer and a binger.
Where I live, it is. In fact, pretty much everybody who worked on Sunday only worked on Sunday because the higher ups get to choose their own schedules, and they obviously won't work on a day that gets them no money. Those lower on the food chain had no other choice.

I've actually lost money working on Sundays, because I was actually spending more gas than I was getting paid. When it comes to Pizza Delivery, only work Fridays and Saturdays if you can.

As for now, I work at Sykes Enterprise (which im a lacky for AT&T doing customer service over the phone), game design student at Wake Tech in Raliegh NC online, and nerd of many talents.

My nerdlike abilities are:
building Gundam Model Kits
playing Video Games
designing Video Games
watching Anime/reading Manga
getting modeling tips from Hobby Japan/Dengeki Hobby

To sum it up, heres my day 5 days a week, i wake up, read the interent over some breakfast, get ready for work, drive less than a mile to work, talking to some cool and some idiots who really dont deserve cellphones 8 hours a day/surf the internet, come home, more internet, doing either video games, models or reading/watching something.

And thats my world in a nutshell.

And duct... WTF?!?! Those are some killer stories, sounds like being with you is reliving the Clerks movie, everyday, and im not saying that as a bad thing...

That's shit man... that's real shit.

I'd be one pissed off son of a bitch. Who the hell thinks that just because it's sunday they don't have to tip? What is it about Sunday? The only thing I can think Sunday represents is Football and Church... and neither sound like something that would endorse "not tipping on Sunday". Where do you live so I know not to go there, because people who even think that way would drive me nuts.

I don't know, tipping is one thing that really gets under my skin. Now I'm someone who will tip when deserved, if you get a bad tip from me, you really screwed up at your job. Oh and if I don't leave a tip, you screwed up so bad I had to talk to your manager to bring awareness to the issue. But for someone doing their job, I'll tip, and I'll tip well.

I remember when I was in highschool my friends and I would go out and eat, and if the waitress screwed up any little thing (didn't matter if it was completely accidental, oh no she didn't bring the catsup even though the entire place was packed to the brim). They'd go and tip these people in the most dickish ways...

like putting a small handful of coins in a cup, putting the place mat over it, flip it and slide the place mat out. This way the waitress would have to pour water all over the place just to pick up the damn thing... this steamed me to NO END. It's like, shit mother fucker, I come here frequently, after the 3rd time you did this it's no surprise they fuck your shit up, cause they know they're going to have to deal with it anyways... so why not make the time shitty for you as well!

Ugh..

I actually have friends I refuse to eat with out. I was just recently out with a couple friends, and I wouldn't order anything. They were all like "what you ain't hungry?" And I'd just say, "yep." And go on with the night, before you knew it they were up to their usual bullheaded shit... and I would laugh because I could just see it in the kitchen... you know they were fucking with the food.

It's cliche, but really, don't fuck with your waitress, they handle your fucking food! I worked in restaurants, from shitty Denny's to nice family ran restaurants. We are NOT afraid to do it. Don't matter the place, shit I had friends (the dicks they are) who'd randomly put things in the burgers at McDonalds... pubic hair, snot, toe nails, even semen! And they'd do it at random just for a laugh... ew.

I live in South Carolina. It's not just delivery jobs either - it's any tip based job. Sit-down restaurants are hit just as hard.

And yes, it's mostly the church crowd that does this. I don't know if its because they gave too much to the church when the plates went around, or if they think we aren't "keeping the sabbath", but as soon as I can see someone that obviously just came from church, I know the best tip I'll get is along the lines of them having to pay $14.95, they give me $15, and then they tell me to "keep the change". Oh gee, thanks!

"not keeping the sabbath"

HA

these are the same people going out to eat on the damn sabbath! If they wanna bitch because you're working on that damn day, they shouldn't be condoning the shit.

When I was a kid people were kind of the same way. But the thing was, everything was closed on Sunday anyways. Even if you did want to work the Sabbath, very few jobs were even available. Maybe the gas station or something...

I just hope that's not their reasoning. If it's because they 'gave to much' or in spite of your none realigious ways... just fucked up. That's the kind of crap that really boils my blood. Even the idea of it.

It reminds me of this one time when I was a bus boy when I was 13. I worked lunches at the italian joint where my step mom worked during the summer... so I could buy slush puppies and the sort. And I was bussing this table one day when at the table next to me two old ladies were complaining about the tip. One lady was asking the other to borrow a dime so she could leave it as her tip on this 8 dollar meal. The other proceeds with the statement:

"I'll lend you this dime" waving it in front of the other woman's face, "but when I drop you off at home, you're running right up stairs and getting me my dime back!"

I just walked over the table, reached into my pocket and pulled out a quarter, and said:

"Don't worry ladies, I fucking have it!"

And slammed the quarter on the table. They got all offended and complained, my step mom came to me after the ladies left about the issue, and I was just like "shit, anyone like that you don't want eating here anyway... that's just dick."

I just want to say...

you are all very colorful people. Really. I wish you all the best with your careers/jobs/hobbies. To me, if you make money in an honest way, there's nothing bad about it. Just saying, because I see many of you complaining about past jobs/careers.

Positive comments have no place on this forum. Shame.
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for me.

Sometimes it is worth leaving a job, even if it means taking a pay cut. For instance, I left my last job where I made almost double what I am making now because the vet who owned the practice (I was a vet tech) was doing some unethical things to animals. Like making up things they needed so he could charge for surgeries or procedures - even if it put the animals at great risk. We lost a lot of animals because they were getting things done they didn't need - like a dental on a 19 year old cat with perfect teeth. A 19 year old cat, I should say, that had thyroid disease. Sometimes the animals would not make it and he would lie to the owner and say it needed to be hospitalized and charge them for it.

He has been reported to the board and hopefully he will soon lose his license, but it takes a LONG ass time. He has been under investigation for over a year. You think he would have stopped in the meantime, but no... so like I said, money doesn't make a job good or worth staying at.
