why you never fight a double dragon

so I just picked up the 3 double dragon games on the NES all mint in box with instructions from ebay.

I got the first and third game in the mail today- along with a few others in a lot. Pretty good price for it, but that isn't why I'm posting...

I don't know if you have looked at the cover art for the first game at all, so maybe my own discovery is old news to you. OK- so you have the blue guy (jimmy or billy) and the red guy (billy or jimmy) on the cover. The red guy on the right has a knife. Now, this is kind of hard to see because his vest is red (also, the nintendo seal of approval obscures it on the actual cartridge art), but he actually has red sticks of dynamite in his vest pocket. Like- full fucking 'used to blow up a mountain' sticks.

Who the fuck goes into a street fight with a knife and dynamite!? What martial art is that?!?! I can only assume that his intention when he put together that weapon combination was to knife a guy, and then put the dynamite IN the guy via the wound. You know what red guy- why don't you split the difference of knife/dynamite and just get a fucking handgun? It may lack a certain kind of style, but it is easy, quick and efficient.

Also- you've made your buddy who only has a short whip totally fucking useless. But you know what? He is probably better off just getting new friends because you sir are fucking psychotic.

The craziest part of Double Dragon is when you make it to the end on 2-player Co-op. Billy (the man in blue) fought beside his brother Jimmy (the guy in red) for all of this time so they could save Billy's girlfriend Marian. If they're both still alive after defeating the one enemy smart enough to bring a gun to the fight, then what happens? That's right! Jimmy turns on Billy because he wants Marian too and they have a fight to the fucking death right in front of Marian while she's still tied up and forced to watch. You bet your ass Jimmy is one messed up brawler! He intends to use that dynamite on his own brother. And Marian, who you think would be disturbed by seeing her loyal boyfriend torn limb from limb, doesn't really seem to mind No matter who wins the death battle for her affection, she's happy and runs right into their arms with glee. What a sick and twisted whore! I don't know who's worse, Jimmy or Marian!?

I don't know man- I'd take one step in 'trap room' and think to myself... I know i killed like 50 dudes to get here, but this isn't remotely worth the effort.
