Well...after playing last night before bed, to me...its the greatest CoD of all time. Granted..the 2 patchs in less than 48 hours, and now a possible 3rd killing the servers seems like a bit of a overkill...more so considering it worked FINE last night.
Anyway whats your thoughts on the game?
Also are there any FPS fans on here that might want to create a clan...more or less just a group of guys/gals that want to just have some people they know to play with. Not some 500 member bs.

Re: CoD MW2
I'm liking it quite a bit so far, although I'm only on the second stage
I'd be down with joining a clan of some kind, need a good name though. As far as multiplayer goes, I love the fact that it migrates hosts during the match as opposed to ending the match completely. I can also kinda see why the didn't even bother releasing any huge updates, they seem to have completely re-done everything online, but maintained the same easy to use functionality. I Also like the fact that you can use different perks, as well as buy other perks when you get your kill streaks. The throwing knives are a nice change from using only grenades, but i can't hit a damn thing with them.

Are you guys talking XBox 360, PS3, PC or what? I haven't bought it yet, waiting to hear the verdict after the new toy phase wears off.

Re: CoD MW2
I have the 360 version (well, my roomate does, I'm in with the boycott crowd on this one), and I kinda disagree with the sentiment here. I think it's great, and it definetly has the best presentation of all of the cod games, but it's still no cod2/cod1. Mind you, I'm only in act two of the campaign, but the gameplay just isn't as tight or the set pieces as epic as Stalingrad or D-day. Veteran difficulty continues to be the broken mess that it had been in cod4, spawning enemies continuously and even spawning them behind you at times, like right behind you. It is better, it doesn't force you to go headlong into enemy fire like cod4 often did in order to progress, but still not nearly as functional as it once was. It's still damned good though, and if your a fan of the series, this is not something you should pass up. Still much better than anything trey-arch has thrown our way.tbeeghly wrote:Are you guys talking XBox 360, PS3, PC or what? I've played very little multiplayer but it has definitely taken a turn toward a more arcade like nature. Duel wielding, deathstreaks, and the option of having an uzi, shotgun, or launcher sidearm are all pretty big changes. Deathstreaks being the only positive change in my opinion, as the new sidearms make pistols pretty useless, excluding the new magnum, it's pretty beast. Kill streaks are just ridiculous now, and far to OP. In 4 kills you can get a care package, this little diddy gives you instant access to one random kill streak perk. This roll of the dice essentially can give you around 10 kills instantly if your lucky enough to get any halfway decent perk. It makes a deathmatch game feel alot more like a game of chance than a legit battle.
The maps, however, are excellent. The level of detail and intricacy to amny of the maps is staggering, and provide a good balance and an even better variety of gameplay. Many maps focus on close quarters, others allow for a good sniper game, and all of them have a good mid range battle quality to it. Some maps are rather weak though, and I have yet to so many that are necesarily better than cod4's best, but on average, they seem much much better.
Anywho, as I said, I'm still going through it, so my thoughts are completely clear, so I'll have to end this rant latter, but these are my thoughts thus far.
Still isn't worth the downfall of pc gaming though...
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

I'm a few hours into campaign and have tried spec ops mode. I like it so far graphics are fantastic and gameplay is pretty solid. Veteran difficulty with spawning enemies continuously and even spawning them behind you at times can be annoying at certain points.I haven't touched multi-player yet.

Re: CoD MW2
I just played COD4:Modern Warfare (the first one) for the first time. It's impressive.
I also have COD2 and COD3 for PS2, but haven't played either of them. I think I need to work my way through some of the older ones before moving into this next installment.

Re: CoD MW2
well Id be up for some racketboy games on the ps3.
Ive played about 5/6 levels on veteran SP and flavela has been the most frustrating so far, took me an age but on the plus side theres a good sense of satisfaction once its done.
Shame the multiplayer has been down today but the levels on mp I played last night were excellent.

Re: CoD MW2
totally agree. A great multiplayer game, but the single is a little weak. It has some great moments, but parts are really broken and i felt like i often didn't even have an option of gameplay, just a frantic mess. Which I guess is what they wanted? That is visceral right? All I'm saying is dudes should not spawn on to the rooftop behind you. Shit ain't right. I died at least 3 or 4 times because i couldn't find the guy shooting at me only to realize he was right above me just spraying down. Although it isn't as epic as first playing d-day, the level design more than makes up for it imho. Not a whole lot of chest high walls all over the place. Everything seems like it could exist in real life, and looks fantastic.AwesomeMonstar wrote:I have the 360 version (well, my roomate does, I'm in with the boycott crowd on this one), and I kinda disagree with the sentiment here. blah blah blahtbeeghly wrote:Are you guys talking XBox 360, PS3, PC or what? Played a handful of multiplayer maps today. I hadn't slept in over 24 hours though so my finger is a little slower on the trigger than most everyone else, but i wanted to get a feel for the maps. They seemed extremely large, but very well designed. My only concern is that they are almost too big and give too many options. Many times i felt like i just was in the wrong place wrong time and just got shot in the back, or was doing that to other people. I guess with experience of the maps though will come more strategy. There were always a few maps in codmw that i hated playing. We'll see with this one.
Re: CoD MW2
I think I'm at the part you are talking about right now. I'm playing on hardened difficulty and have been getting my ass handed to me in that little shanty town where the guys spawn on the rooftops.nickfil wrote:All I'm saying is dudes should not spawn on to the rooftop behind you.
