Shatter!

Post by pelham123 »

Played this 'til nigh on 4 in the morn' at a friend's house last night. It's a breakout clone with a difference and the most fun I've had playing a new game all year. It's the addition of an attract/deflect forcefield mechanic that sets it apart and allows for an amazing amount of control/confidence whilst batting. Add to that a variety of different directional stages - horizontal, vertical and the dreaded circular stage!, an awesome electronic soundtrack, 10 bosses and a bonus boss rush challenge and you've definitely got more than enough game for your 6 quid. Can't recommend it highly enough. Just makes me wish I had a PS3!

Anyone else played it?

Yeah I got that game when it first came out. I couldn't agree more. Its very addictive. I think when PSN has a solid downloadable title, its usually amazing. They just need more of them like this game.

I need to go back to this game, I love the gameplay and the soundtrack is great - just another example on the long list of excellent & unique PSN games.

I don't have a PS3, but I love Breakout-clones. I'd love to see this on the DS (even if it would need to be scaled down) with support for the paddle peripheral. Arkanoid DS is an abomination to both God and man!

I just got this game for Steam. It's freakin' brilliant! This is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a game. It sounds like Justice. I love the art style. It's got a cool psychedelic futuristic look. Plus it adds lots of unique new elements to the traditional gameplay of old Breakout/Arkanoid style games. Awesome. More people should play this.

Yeah got this when it first came out on PS3, it's awesome. Best game on PSN, but that's not really saying much though.

Been wanting to check this out. All the praise here re-affirms it. Just wish I could get a demo, dammit! Probably my next PSN purchase after I finished PJ Shooter.

PJ Shooter is tight. I think that might be the easiest PixelJunk game (and that is not a complaint). Check out PJ Monsters. I think that is my favorite game on PSN and my favorite tower defense game.
