That eclipses my collection of ~400 with some along the way.pepharytheworm wrote:I have over 900 metal CDs maybe more I just bought 40 last month and havent organized them yet.
Metal Church formed in 1980. I personally don't really know what to go by when I try to decide who is the first Thrash Metal band (or the first any band), if someone asks me "What's the first German Thrash Metal band?" I'll probably tell them that the first one formed was Holy Moses and the first one to come out with an album is Destruction. Unless I'm feeling lazy, then I'll just say Holy Moses.I don't really consider Holy Moses as the first German thrash band because even though they formed in 1980 they didn't release anything till 1985 and Destructions first release is 1984. Thats like saying Metal Church is the first Thrash band because they formed in 1979 or 80, depending on who you talk to.
I wasn't trying to imply that you were saying that Early Destruction was bad. If you did, I would've pounced on you ... with text. I was trying to say that if the sound quality was a problem for whoever was considering those albums, you could just get Thrash Anthems.I wasn't saying old destruction or mid kreator is bad. I was warning others who might not like change or poor quality. I have all of Kreators albums and most of Destructions (missing the mid 90's stuff) I have Them Not Me though.
As far as mid Kreator, I don't really listen to Industrial/Gothic Metal or Hardcore, so I don't really like those albums. I have seen those albums mercilessly bashed, which was why I was saying they weren't that bad. They deserve a chance, unlike Destruction's Neo-Destruction albums, those need to be burned. Maybe if I can get the Shaq-Fu Liberators to help, I can start a Neo-Destruction... destruction campaign. My goal, by 2015, no one will know of songs as 263 Dead popes and Tick on a Tree.
Oh, whenever I see someone saying that Kreator's material has better sound quality, they unknowingly have the remastered version of the albums.I also don't have any of Kreators remasterd stuff except a compilation I bought but that is remixed/remastered.
I've been waiting for The Evolution of Chaos as well. The site (back when it was up) would constantly cock tease me with the release date, only for when it'd come, to be delayed. As far as Lee Atlus being to busy to record, according to Heathen's MySpace, the album's finished.I have been waiting on the new Heathen album for 5 years, the demos don't satisfy I need more. I blame Lee Atlus for being to busy with Exodus to finish recording with Heathen.
How do you get Punk AC/DC Grandma from Blitz Ellsworth?A word to the wise on Overkill, though I love this band and have all their albums (they released more Thrash albums then any other Metal band and will be at 17 full releases when Ironbound comes out early next year) The singers voice might be a turn off to some. He sounds like a punk version of AC/DC with someones grandma thrown in. Be open minded when you listen to Overkill and you want regret it.
