I had played ports of this for the NES and Game Gear and SSTV for the SNES and never really enjoyed them as much as I felt I should. Recently I FINALLY played the arcade version of this game with twin sticks (on a Gamecube pad) and NOW I see what I have been missing all these years! Fantastic game - I used a ton of continues but had a lot of fun anyway. I liked that your high score didn't reset even when you had to continue - it gives the game even more replayability.
Yes, I know I am a little bit ahead of the upcoming TR for this game, but I have a VERY good reason
The newest Turok should be here today or tomorrow, so I'll finally be able to reply to your review, Ack.
Also, if anyone is hoping to pick up Gamecube versions Midway Arcade Classics 1 and 2 for next month's TR, you'd do me a huge favor if you picked up the PS2 versions instead and then swapped for my GC versions. I prefer my bigger screen and my PS3 arcade stick for many of the titles on these discs!
