Need some help with original Xbox controllers

I have just recently been given a few original Xbox controllers, but two of them can't be used. One of them just needs one of those adapters that goes on the end of a controller so that it can actually plug into the controller port. I don't know the exact name for it, but I can't find them anywhere online.

The other controller is a wireless Intec controller. I have the receiver that plugs into the controller port, but my problem is that it comes with a battery pack and looks like it needs to be plugged to an A/C adaptor to get recharged, but I wasn't given one with it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find either of these items? Does anyone know what I'm talking about with the wireless Intec controller?

The end bit for the wired controller is called a breakaway cable. I got one at Gamestop for a few bucks a year ago for a controller that found its way to me too, but that's less likely now. If you look on everyone's favorite auction site to hate for "xbox breakaway" and there are plenty to be found.

Does the controller have markings that say the voltage, amperage, and polarity? Or if you can find a site with information about that particular model.

Yeah actually. The top of the Intec controller has a plug with a marking that has a - sign, followed by what looks like a sideways power symbol, followed by a + sign. Under that it says DC 5V.

The reciever that plugs into the controller port has the same plug on it, with the same markings. Sorry I don't know what I'm talking about with them, I'm not really good with electronics.

I don't know what they'd be called, but you can get dc adapters that come with a bunch of different sized plugs so you can find one that fits. I'd look around for universal ac adapter or something like that. I know I've seen them at places like walmart and radio shack.

Bleh, that Amazon page doesn't really have detailed info. But the controller might have given enough. I can't imagine that the charger pulls that much juice, so any 300 mA or 500 mA plugpack would probably be fine. More is ok on the mA. Obviously 5V DC is straightforward. For the diagram, it should be telling you wich is negative and which is positive. If the - has a line that goes to the dot in the middle and the + attaches to the outer circle, its telling you that the tip or hole in the middle of the adapter needs to be negative. Obviously it can be vice versa as well. Most plug packs should have the little diagram on them too. Find one that matches and says 5 V DC for the output and you should be good. The mA rating doesn't matter so much. It can be more than the controller needs without being a problem. The device will only pull what it needs in that category.

I picked up a breakaway connector for $3 on eBay just now, so thanks for letting me know what that was called as well.

Order another one while your there and convert it to USB, easy mod. Then you can use you Xbox controller on the PC, while still being able to use it on the xbox.

I just found a picture of what the actual cord looks like. This is the same controller I have, but mine is a different color. I guess that the link cable in the picture is used to charge the controller via the receiver that plugs into the controller port.

Is this a common cord that I could find anywhere? Looks like a male/male cable...
