Dude, really, you are *not* supposed to play each and every game on the market. You are not. Look for a game you enjoy and play it. Forget that there are other games around. You are not even supposed to have money to buy so many of them.

If people adopted the same mindset regarding books or movies ("I have to read/watch *everything*"), they'd shoot themselves right away.
Piracy has really ruined some games for people. Being able to just copy and play games makes people less appreciative of the art and fun in games. I think we enjoyed games in the old days because we maybe had 2 or 3 new games per year unless you were rich. So you explored every nook and cranny of those games waiting for the holidays and maybe a new game. But like you said you just have to pick the good ones and stay away from the crap.

 There's shops in Statesville?

Seriously though, check out the local Goodwill out near the Lowe's as they've often got good stuff, hit up this little skate shop called Haven downtown as a buddy of mine opened a game and card shop in the back of it that sometimes gets in pure gold (Clear Smoke Gray N64 for $20). Also try the local City Pawn and Gun downtown they're the only pawn shop downtown that sells retro and get some pretty cool stuff in from time to time.

PM me if you're going to have free time when you're down here and I'll find a way to meet up and hang out with you as well as cover any shops I may have missed.

I won't lie , I do pirate, BUT...here is why I do it(I am not saying its an excuse)
I pay in shipping each game's price or double. So a $10 game will cost me really $20 or $30. This is due that no one ships international from US, so I have to get a US PO box. Ship it there and then it gets shipped back to me halfway across the world. There is NO local retro shops here. Its either in people's basement(forgotten and unknown/not working) or in the garbage.

I do pirate a lot of games, but truth is I only play/complete the ones that I would have payed for(given not so high shipping price). If you wonder why I do pirate the others, its because I just want to get a taste for them. Like Sin&Punishment, everyone was talking about this game so I did get it just to see what all the talk is about, I just played until I got to level 2.

I also see it ridiculous to search every tiny bit of the game(which can be huge) for an item or collecting 1000 magic keys. This is supposed to be a game, fun, not work hard in the virtual world just as much as I would in real life. Is it fun getting stuck? Sure a challenge is welcomed, but it has limits.

Last is, the truth about the big amount of games I want to play is because I stopped gaming for a LOOONG time(maybe 10 years) and I skipped on superb games like Zelda64,Mario 64,GTA, RE, Tomb Raider, Shenmue, Prince of Persia(GC), Metal Gear, Oblivion(360), Bully, God of War.
Those are what you call the cream of the crop , you think I should skip playing these games?
I am skipping games as good as COD, Uncharted, Demon Soul, Batman, and even more. I think I am not trying to play every game out there.

I am not a kid of these days, I am 25 years old. As a kid I never got to complete Sonic and Mario, unless you think Sonic and Mario are games worth skipping. Thats all.

Buddy I'm 17, trust me when I say you can still relate to these games just as if they would have been released today. Plus you don't have to drop all of the newer titles just because you're playing an older one simply try to devote equal but separate amounts of time to them.

I understand that price is an issue where you live so it's a given that you'll have to pirate for certain games, but regardless of the fact you should try to play them a little harder. I'm not telling you to grind and grind to find out all of the secrets, but to simply play the game like normal and discover them by accident or out of sheer luck like I and most others did.
