Are there any jdm fans on here that know of a good engine source...I always hear 3 good things about a place then 7 HORRIBLE things. Has anyone used an engine importer more than 1 time with great service? I am looking to do either an ls/vtec or a b18c5 <<<< this one is why I am looking for an import engine places THAT YOU CAN TRUST.
OR!...even better, if anyone knows a good reliable engine source that would sell the american B18c5 for a decent price...or used engines in general at a good price...NOT EBAY, to many people on there dont check for cracks or leaks and that just turns into a massive mess a mounth down the road when your going 80mph and the oil pressure drops to 0.

Re: JDM Car People
As far as an LS/vtec goes. That isn't a stock motor so it's not really JDM. And buying one form somewhere may not be the best idea. LS/vtecs are weird because half of them are super reliable and the other half have nothing but problems. If you go this route I would suggest building your own and build it right(block girdles, etc). Many people skimp on that stuff and their motor runs alot less miles.
c5 motors are pretty expensive and not really worth the extra HP. It's more of a status thing to say you have a type R.
In my opinion, the best route is a GSR motor with turbo kit. You can even paint the valve cover red. But I know how alot of Honda guys feel about Forced Air Induction.
I've been out of the Honda crowd since I sold my Integra so my advice is a few years old. Hope I helped.
