Xbox 360 Game Installing
I've noticed that games are not taking up space on the hard drive like they used to. For example: The Orange box took up 4.7 Gigs of memory but now it takes up 3.9 Gigs. Grand Theft Auto 4 took up 6.8 Gigs and now it takes up 6.5 Gigs. Does anyone have some sort of idea to what happen here? My guess is that update from awhile ago that introduced the Games on Demand section in the Marketplace did something to the software that improved compression. Anyone got a clue?

The NXE update from awhile ago that introduced the Games on Demand section in the Marketplace did bring some improvements for game installs. The reductions are being attributed to the elimination of security-related “filler bytes” and duplicated game data from the installation process. Better still, games won’t take a performance hit as a result.

I was going to suggest that it was because you had deleted a large amount of saved games and thats where they are stored.
