Sega CD Help!

Hey everyone. I got a Model 1 Sega CD the other day off ebay in a lot and Im having diffuculties getting it fired up! I cracked it open because I heard something rattling around to find a large magnet. I found where it wrapped around the internal connector and replaced it, as well as replaced the F1 fuse (no continuity). Now the Sega CD led will flash on the front, but from there nothing. Can anyone help me? Other forums dont seem to be of much help.

Does it boot to the Sega CD BIOS?

No, it doesnt boot to BIOS. The power and the access lights flash for a second then nothing.
