I suppose it would belong a little higher on the list. A lot of the choices suck though.

Re: IGN's Top 100 NES Games
Limiting the scope to US releases?
Crediting publishers, not developers?
The original TMNT making the list at all?
EPIC FAIL.
That Goonies II, Journey to Silius, and Gargoyle's Quest II made the list is some consolation. Overall, though, this effort seems like old hat. Most of the biggest and best US game releases are nothing surprising to the average American NES fan. How about finally shedding light on all of the amazing Japanese-only NES games? It's also highly annoying when incredible games are listed as "by [publisher]." While often the publisher did it in house, Ironsword was originally developed by Zippo Games for Rare, and Double Dragon II was developed by the mighty Technos (although River City Ransom is WAY better!). How about properly crediting a game's authors?

Well, I'm happy Shadowgate was on. Number 50's not a bad place for a game I consider an absolute classic.
Re: IGN's Top 100 NES Games
I actually liked TMNT, and played it quite a bit. I was more bothered by Double Dragon 3 being on the list, and higher than part 2. Double Dragon II was the peak of the series on the NES, in my opinion.timewarpgamer wrote: The original TMNT making the list at all?

Re: IGN's Top 100 NES Games
Good to see some of my top picks made it. I can't believe some of these choices though.
Some that would have made my top 20.
MetalStorm
Crystalis
Shadowgate
Final Fantasy
A Boy and His Blob
R.C. Pro-AM
Deja Vu
River City Ransom
Punch Out
Contra
These are just personal favourites. No other reason.
