Was Devil May Cry 4 really that awful? I liked it a lot. Although 3 is my favourite, I agree Bayonetta takes the formula in an awesome direction.dsheinem wrote:I just downloaded (and ADORE!) the Bayonetta demo from the JPN store today. I am a huge fan of the DMC games, and this demo seems like such a better evolution of that style/those mechanics than the disaster that was DMC4.
Don't you need a credit card based on a foreign address to buy stuff from EU and JPN anyway? I have been wishing I could buy the EU only Outrun game for a long time, to no avail. I did hear that PSN cards would be sold in EU at some point, so maybe that will be an option...
Anyway, since I can still download demos, I don't see why this is a big deal. It's not like I could buy stuff from other regions anyway.
I Knew This Day Would Come...PSN Store now REGION LOCKED :(

I found Devil May Cry 4 to be sorely lacking. Of course, the only Devil May Cry I liked was the original, so what can ya do.
Anyway, I just checked out the British, Japanese and Hong Kong PSNs, and I can still access them. I guess it is just America that is region-locked, which seems pretty idiotic. Dunno why they would do this.

Wow, yet another great move by Sony. Not only does PSN charge content-providers for bandwidth, now it's region locked.MS is seeming less evil compared to Sony.

I'd rather Sony charge content-providers to advertise on their network (which is all demos really are) than me pay for it.GSZX1337 wrote:Wow, yet another great move by Sony. Not only does PSN charge content-providers for bandwidth, now it's region locked.MS is seeming less evil compared to Sony.

That's why you don't see many indie releases on PSN, though. Also, does MS charge you for XBLA, now (other than the cost of games)?the7k wrote:I'd rather Sony charge content-providers to advertise on their network (which is all demos really are) than me pay for it.GSZX1337 wrote:Wow, yet another great move by Sony. XBOX Live is region locked too... Has been for over a year now.GSZX1337 wrote:Wow, yet another great move by Sony. Not only does PSN charge content-providers for bandwidth, now it's region locked.MS is seeming less evil compared to Sony.
Makes me glad I bought Ore no Ryori last month though!

Hmm, didn't know that. Microsoft seems to be more evil, now.NeoTechni wrote:XBOX Live is region locked too... Has been for over a year now.GSZX1337 wrote:Wow, yet another great move by Sony. Oh, I've been there before. Bought myself a No Duke Nukem Forever Ever belt.Ack wrote:That's easy. It's in the same store where you can buy the No Shenmue This Year and What Else Can We Do To Sonic belts that Sega likes, and the Death To The Hacking Community belt that Nintendo wears. You can also get the We'll Sue Your Ass For Copyright Infringement belt I've seen Squaresoft wearing around the place. Oh, and then there's that red ring belt for Microsoft in the back, but I'd avoid that one.h8b1llg8ts wrote:*Another Notch on Sony's Belt*
Where can I get one of those F*ck 'em all belts, Sony?

UPDATE!
The region lock is gone. That was weird. I retract my rant!

How strange.
You think it might have somehow only affected you? I'd think I'd hear about this on Kotaku and/or Destructoid, and yet I haven't heard anything - and Destructoid will usually take any excuse they can get to shit on Sony products.
