Best Super Famicom Exclusives

Post by pepharytheworm »

I have a Super Famicom but only three games, and I really need to beef up my collection. I don't want to get games for the system that I could get for the SNES. I already know I want Do Re Mi Fantasy and Mario and Wario. So I am wondering what are some of the best exclusive SFC games? Please also let me know how English friendly they are. Thanks guys.

I just downloaded a Japanese to english pack of roms for the superfami the other day! I can't speak to how english friendly they are (already translated) but here are some that i've played and liked, or have heard good things about and are in the pile to play....

super puyo puyo 2
tales of phantasia (not so english friendly)
Ys IV - mask of the sun (not so english friendly)
Magical drop
Front mission (not so english friendly)
Front mission - gun hazard
feda the emblem of justice
dragon quest games (not so english friendly)
final fantasy games (not so english friendly)
Clock Tower

Many of the game's titles were in japanese which means i probably haven't heard anything about them. Makes a pretty good pile of games to just go in fresh and blind. If i find anything i like, i'll post it.

Is that the fighting game? I saw it at a game store recently. Was excited, as I don't have any S.Fami games yet. Was then floored by the asking price - I believe they wanted $120. Ugh.

1. kishin douji zenki: batoru raiden. It's not english friendly but it's a sidescroller so it's hardly a dealbreaker. Graphics and gameplay are topnotch, almost at the same level as Castlevania: SOTN on the PSX.

2. Super Firepro Wrestling X Premium

I've honestly tried, but I just can't get into the Fire Pro series.

There are a couple of Twin Bee games on the SFC. One's a regular shoot 'em up, and one's a platformer(!).

I finally caved and started buying more Superfamicom games about a year ago. The must have never released Stateside that I have bought thus far:
Battlecross -
Super Bomberman 5 -
Battle Tetris Gaiden -
Super Tetris 3 -
Mario Super Picross -
Godzilla: Kaijuu Daikessen -

Others I am interested in and just havent bought:
Sutte Hakkun -
Raccoon Rascal -
Gundam Endless Duel -

As you can tell I really focused on multiplayer centric titles. I also pick up games that are too expensive in the US if they are not heavy in text - ie Megaman X2 goes for $30ish, I got Rockman X2 for $10. Ill end up with Endless Duel as soon as I get around to talking to Mad-Gear again (he had two copies on hand at AWA and I just forgot to get it). And thanks to hashiriya1 I have all of the Street Fighter 2 ports on the console (among others).
