Hey Guys,
When burning PSX backups (chipped system of course) do you just burn the ISO to a disc like you do burning a Dreamcast backup? Or is there more to it?
Thanks!!!!!

Re: PSX Backups
It depends on your modchip, if you have a recent stealth chip then just burn the iso to disc, Alcohol 120% has a setting specifically for Playstation games, however I've never had a problem burning the iso straight with Toast (on mac) or Nero on Win.
If you don't have a stealth modded Playstation then you will need to patch the ISO with a PPF file and PPF Patcher. This will remove the mod subsystem checks on certain games.

Burning an ISO to the disc should work. Although, you're going to need to boot with a normal game and keep a spring or something inside to make the PSX think the lid stayed closed the whole time. The Breaker Pros work like the PS-X-Change discs, you load a real disc and then swap when prompted.Frag Mortuus wrote:im going to use Breaker Pro that plugs into the parallel port in the back of the psx.
Re: PSX Backups
The breaker pro sucks if you don't want to faff with your disc images. Lots of games have mid game piracy checks and will just hang unless they are patched to have this removed. When I say lots, I'm talking hundreds. A lot of them are some of the best games on the system. A few off the top of my head, Alundra 2, FF8, FF9, Soul Reaver, driver, driver 2, crash 3, bloody roar 1 and 2, bust a groove, bust a groove 2, castlevania SOTN, chrono cross, GT2 (both discs), metal gear solid (both discs), parasite eve 2, resident evil 2, resident evil 3, spider man, syphon filter 2 & 3, Tekken 3, Tenchu 2, vagrant story, valkyrie profile, Tony Hawks pro skate 2.
To have the best hassle free experience you need to install a stealth chip.

ahh the old "plugmod" those work okay for most games, but anything with CDDA music is not gonna work right and you will need to use a PPF patch or gameshark codes to kill the antimod protection in later games (most of those carts do support GS codes though, and there are sites that have lists of the antimod killer codes, though i reccomend using a PPF patch on the ISO)Frag Mortuus wrote:im going to use Breaker Pro that plugs into the parallel port in the back of the psx.
