PSP Go to be released on Thursday Oct 1

Post by Metal Militia »

Just wanted to know if anybody is planning on buying the new PSP Go since it is being released this thursday. I looked at the price and it was $250 and my first reaction was.....FUCK THAT!!!! This is more expensive than a Nintendo Wii now and if you want you can add $50 and buy yourself an Xbox 360 Elite or PS3. I already have a PSP 1000 and a PSP Slim so I will pass on this. This PSP Go doesn't have a UMD drive so I guess you have to download all the games that you own or something. In my opinion $250 is way to much fucking money for this thing.

I still don't know which features are exclusive to the PSPgo. Are Minis only playable in it?

I mean, for what I know, the only thing different from the cheaper models already available is the design and lack of UMD, not to mention higher price. It must have something to justify its price tag. Or my head will explode.

It does have bluetooth, but that's about it. It also might have some additional software features like a calendar.
NES | SNES | Genesis | PSOne | Saturn | N64 | Dreamcast | Gamecube | XBox | PS2 Phat w/HDLoader | PS3 Slim| Wii
GBA SP | PSP-1000 | WiFi-iPad 16GB(Is this a game system?) | Modded PS1 | PS Vita 3G

Oh, so there's a calendar. That's a relief.

Plus they have this incentive program for registering your old psp and getting like 3 free games, but get this, its only in Europe. USA cats get nothing, not even a damned carry puch/protective sleeve for our new 250$ paperweight.

I'm skipping this one for sure. To be honest, I don't see the appeal of portable games as much as console/pc games. when i'm out and about, I don't wanna sit and play MORE games than I do at home.
Got: Atari 2600, Atari 7800Pro, Commodore 64, Odyssey 2, Sega Master System, NES, Genesis Models 1-3, Nomad, Game Gear, Sega CD Model 1, Sega 32x, SuperNES, GameBoys, GameBoy Pocket, GBC, Sega Saturn Model 2, GBA, Nintendo 64, Playstation, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2 Slim, Nintendo DS Lite, Xbox 360, Gamecube, PS3 Slim

Well the Go! appearantly has a very nice screen in comparison to the 2000 and 3000. It also has a much smaller form factor, and holding one in my hands, I must say I feel its way more comfortable than any other PSP, even the Phat. The buttons feel very nice and crisp to the touch as well. It feels like they actually got it right this time.

Where have you held one?!

I want it, but I also want to own my games so it's a no go for me.
