I had about 20x more fun with TimeSplitters 2 than any other console FPS ever.

Counter-Strike
Halo
Resident Evil series
The Sims - If I wanted to play with a dollhouse, I'd buy one. The game is very well designed, though.
World of Warcraft (I'm currently playing it but I don't really like it compared to FFXI)
GTA: SA
CoD
Battlefield series
Starcraft
Warcraft 3
Gran Turismo (and every other similar racing game)
Tetris
Solitare

There's many other but that's all I can think of for now.

From music, to maps, to vehicles, to weapons, to gameplay modes, to sheer amount of content, UT2004 wins. And so far, I've invited over 4 hardcore Halo fans to my place, and all 4 times they leave my place saying "Oh my god I need to get a good PC!" It's just a superior product.
Ya, multiplayer FPSs are crap without a mouse and keyboard. I agree with you mostly except that, imho the vehicles in UT2004 mostly sucked. The Warthog in Halo was so much more fun to drive, not to mention hijacking ships.

I'm not really a FPS player in general but I to often find difficulities controlling without a mouse and keyboard. Only exceptions in my mind were Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. 4 humans + 8 bots in Perfect Dark = lots of fun.

Personally I found the vehicles in 2k4 to be quite fun. Sure they had problems but, to toot my own horn, when I got ahold of a Manta it was like a brilliant painting of squashed bodies and chopped torsos all over Torlan, or whatever other stage we were happening to play, except that snow one with bridge - I still hate that one.

Hows that for comma splices?

Haha, indeed. Thats one of the best vehicles in any game ever. My favorite stage to use that one was...well crap, I forget the name of it, but it was one of the stages that takes place at the top of skyscrapers, 'cept this one was daytime. UT2K4 has so many great maps, but the downside is I can't memorize their names for shit.

Youd hate me then. I am a fortress fan, believing that Team Fortress Classic is the best of them all. So over my years of playing it, well I have expanded the base 8 maps by a fair amount. Last I checked it was 3 gigs of maps, well over 1000. My UT99 map list is at about 300 for deathmatch, 50ish ctf. UT2k4 is about the same as UT99 (switch ctf for onslaught) - sadly more people play UT99 than 2k4 on a daily basis, so much so they have recreated the new maps in the older game. If only 99 had onslaught and bombing run. Speaking of bombing run I never did make that Spanish Football Commentator mod for it...

Make open source bomberman support 15-20+ players first, then ut mod.

1. But until I played Andreas; I really didn't care for GTA at all. Not that I hated it; I just never paid them any mind.

2. Any American Wrestling game; I have been spoiled by import wrestling games since 96 and Toukon Retsuden on PS1 (Japanese version of Power Move Pro Wrestling) and American Wrestling games just don't do it for me AT ALL.

I generally hate FPS, Metroid on Gamecube was the only one that I ever liked, probably because it seems like it was aimed at people like me and most japanese gamers who don't like them as much to move us into that area.

Shining Force III on Saturn is probably my favorite game, and I totally hate FFTactics and the GBA FFtactics in comparison. I started playing them and just couldn't go on, I'd rather play through SFIII for a sixth or seventh time than get past the second hour of those two snoozefests.

Old thread, I breathe life into you anew!

Yeah, a new thread somebody started brought ideas into my head and Mozgus pointed out this original.

I hate Final Fantasy VI, VII, VIII, and IX. These games are just obnoxious time-wasters to me with stock characters and tepid stories.

I dislike Resident Evil, and other, similar, slow-plodding horror games.

I kinda don't really enjoy playing classic Sonic games that much.
