Hmm..
Actually, I've seen more advertising for this game then any other. I watched about four hours of television this weekend(more than I've watched in the past year, not including election coverage), and of that, I saw at least two ads for the game a dozen times. Also, Spike TV apparently was talking about it on a show, as they were hyping it a great deal. So this game has had more advertising than any other in a long time to me.
Why is there so little hyping for Halo 3 ODST?

I know some my friends are psyched for it....I've never played Halo before and i was never a huge fan of console FPS games.

Thus far, I've seen more ads for Halo 3: ODST than any other game. It may not be getting as much as the Halo games of old, but I'm seeing for commercials for it than just about any other game that is already out or will soon be coming out. Only Guitar Hero 5 has been able to stand up to it.
As for the lack of hype, according to my manager - who is both a Halo fan and got to play it - he found it disappointing. Perhaps others are coming to the same conclusion.

Man, I donno about this Halo junk anymore. I'm a fan of the first game, its my favorite fps but Halo 2 sucked so bad and Halo 3 was okay but the addition of multiplayer turned millions of gamers into Halo 3 douche bags. Now the Halo franchise is being watered down by making this spin-off game? No doubt the campaign will be right fun but I don't think it's worth buying. Now when Halo: Reach comes out, I may get back into it.
