Why is there so little hyping for Halo 3 ODST?

It just seems there is FAR less advertising and hyping up for ODST than there was for Halo 3, and I was wondering why.

Maybe because people have finally realized how dull and drawn out the series is?

From what I understand is that it is more of an expansion than a full game. Do you need a copy of Halo 3 for this to work? I don't know...

I have it reserved, but I probably won't be able to pick it up this week... I was gonna head up there at midnight just for the hell of it, but I'm low on cash. I was a big fan of the original Halo: Combat Evolved. I know it gets a certain reputation due to its online community, but its still a fun game if you are into that sort of thing. ODST looks to have a fun single player, and the firefight mode looks entertaining as well.

Totally agree. I'm not huge on multiplayer online but the cooperative game modes are my favorites.

You don't need a copy of Halo 3 to play it.

And I don't think they've advertised that much because after Halo Wars they realized anything with that Halo name will sell regardless.

Isn't this more of a side game than anything else as well? Halo Reach is the next (and last) main game is the series.

to me it seems halo is becoming as watered down as street fighter 2. halo wars, halo odst, halo reach... who cares.
