ps3 hard drives

would it be posible to put a desk top hard drive into a ps3.
**it wont fit, duh**
but would it work for game saves and the like if it was just pluged in and sood next to the ps3???

My ps3 experience is limited, but I dont think you can directly save on an external drive. Saving and transfering to it through the crossbar should be a possibility, especially if you have Linux on it.

i dont mean an external drive.

pull out the laptop hd and plug in a desktop hd.

INTO THE SAME PLACE.

Well they do sell 2.5 to 3.5 bay converters, should be about $10-15. The catch would be the length of the cable inside the PS3. But Im going to go out on a limb and say that as of now, no it is not possible.
