Real men use a good reclinable chair and a moderatedly sized screen for all their gaming needs.

This I have seen posters have but it is still very obscure and not many would do that. To me it would seem very cluttered and I would rather just have one controller that has the correct amount of buttons for every single game and doesn't require a desk. I prefer minimalism and social acceptability rather than having an internet dwelling gamer cave.MrPopo wrote:I'm rocking out a mouse and keyboard on my couch right now to post this. I've got my PC hooked into my TV, and a wireless mouse and keyboard. It's awesome. Especially when you consider that modern mice work on basically every surface, so I never have issues of my mouse not being responsive.
I mean, why would you want to go to your living room to play in a couch when you can have a more specialized spot with the same confortability levels.Citizin wrote: Not even sure what you're trying to say here.
Both because I don't really have a TV on my desk, I will once I get a good screen with composite support and such.Citizin wrote:Do you play in your living room or your computer desk?
I'd rather have a good control scheme. I find it's more fun to play a game when I'm not wrestling with the controls.Citizin wrote:This I have seen posters have but it is still very obscure and not many would do that. @General_Norris: Yes most living rooms have couches. Not even sure what you're trying to say here.
PS1 has a mouse. I think you could even use the SNES mouse with its respective port of Doom. It was compatible with many of the FPSs on the system. From my observations (being shoulder deep in FPS gaming culture when Quake III, Half Life and Unreal Tournament were fresh), Goldeneye aside, no one took controller based FPSs seriously until Halo. Again, I'm amazed that some new aged gamers still consider it a superior form of control in an FPS over the keyboard and mouse.dsheinem wrote:There are lots of controller-only FPS games pre-Halo. Goldeneye, the Doom ports, Zero Tolerance, AvP, etc. In fact, I would guess the reverse is true and that most console FPSs before Halo had NO keyboard/mouse support as there was simply nowhere to plug them in. I thought that the Dreamcast was the first to even offer this option...
Same. I have no problem pulling up the mouse and keyboard on my couch. The compactness and ease of use from controller while gaming from a couch is an out-dated and tired excuse.MrPopo wrote:I'm rocking out a mouse and keyboard on my couch right now to post this. Outside of Wolfenstien for SNES, I don't easily recognize any FPSs on this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNES_Mousewip3outguy7 wrote: PS1 has a mouse. I think you could even use the SNES mouse with its respective port of Doom. It was compatible with many of the FPSs on the system.
