So 4 days till the big day.
For appreciation of how advanced the Dreamcast really was, I was curious if somebody could throw up a private Racketboy PSO server. Wouldn't that be awesome.

Never played PSO but for that I would. AFTER I get some sort of clue how to get the DC online...
Re: So 4 days till the big day.
I've always wondered about the logistics of hosting a DC server.
Do you have to have a legit Sega server or can you just use a DC/PC?

I thought I heard of people (not Sega) running Dreamcast servers, so I guess it is possible.

Problem is most of the unofficial servers are private and require passwords etc.

I just had a weird moment. Up until this thread, I was sure that 9/9 meant the 9th of October, so Dreamcast appreciation day was still over a month away.
But yeah, the 9th month is September, but for some reason my brain processes 9/9/99 as October the 9th.

Totally. But first... I've got to get a copy.
And as for the login info, we'll just start a sticky and have all the info on it.
Now, I have a dial-up modem. Will I need a broadband modem, or will dial-up be fine? And what ISP can I use? I have NetZero.

I'm just running a burned copy right now. NetZero should be fine. I'll probably end up doing all sorts of crap to get mine up (running it through the computer and such) since I don't have dial-up and I dont have the money for a broadband adapter yet.REPO Man wrote:Totally. I'm currently getting all set up for the big day, I've got my shiny new NEC CRT monitor, I'm about to order a VGA Box via rush delivery from the store and will be celebrating the DC's birthday with a Marathon of Jet Grind Radio, Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi and all my other DC favorites.
It's the system that really cemented my want to get a career in gaming after I first played it and completely redefined what the hobby meant to me so I think it deserves to slide through the day in a style uniquely it's own.
