N64 Neon Genesis Evangelion Pricing
Can anyone tell me what a person should expect to pay for a complete copy of Neon Genesis? Also, is this game rare and would it be worth owning? I modded my N64 so I can play Japanese games but the only one I have so far is Pocket Monster Stadium...for my daughter who loves all things Pokemon.

Re: N64 Neon Genesis Evangelion Pricing
It isn't going to be cheap, if that's what you mean. The only shop on ebay with it currently listed it as around $50, and the current auctions have the price at $12 after two bids, with more than six days to go. And that's all before shipping.
It plays like a very weird fighting game, but comes off more cinematic than anything else(hence why I don't include it with the other 64 fighting games). It does change the story around a little bit from the series, but it does incorporate bits from End of Evangelion. If you understand Japanese, you'll likely have a much better chance, because it's a very bizarre game. I couldn't tell you how rare it is, but it's certainly not common in the states.
Now if you're looking for a few imports, might I suggest the Custom Robo games? They have RPG-esque story exposition, but it's really not relevant to combat, which plays like an arena fighter with mechs. They're fun, even if I have no idea what's going on.

You should talk with hashiriya1. He's our resident exporter of all things Japanese so he can give you a good idea of what it costs on the street.

$50 is actually a fair deal. It seems the standard price of that game (complete) is 5000 yen. I have rarely seen it cheaper than that.

That's interesting, because I got my copy at GEO for 980 yen. ::EDIT:: Actually it might've been 1480.
Cool game if you're a fan of the show. If you're not a fan, probably not that cool a game.

Re: N64 Neon Genesis Evangelion Pricing
Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated.
I'm just beginning to start to build an import collection of Super Famicom and N64 games as I recently found out how easy it was to mod both systems. I'm still in the beginning stages of my US collection as well but this is a fun diversion. Currently, I only have a complete Japanese copy of Pokemon Stadium but Pop'n Twinbee, Super Puyo Puyo (SNES), and Yakochu II: Satsujin Koro (N64) are on the way. Mainly looking for good+ playable games that came out only over there but I got a good deal on the two N64 games on Ebay. Plus my 6-year old loves Pokemon so she was happy.
Does anyone have any recommendation for either system in terms of good and easily playable games (non-Japanese text intensive)?

Well chief, if you're looking for a fighting game, I highly suggest Gundam Wing: Endless Duel for the Super Famicom. It is definitely one of the most impressive fighting games on the console, and not too Japanese heavy either.
Check it out:

As for the Nintendo 64, I already mentioned the Custom Robo games. They're pretty Japanese heavy for storylines, but actual combat isn't so bad. I also enjoy a little fighter named Rakuga Kids. It saw releases in Japan and the PAL regions, but nothing stateside unfortunately. The PAL release is in English. It's got a pretty quirky plot too, involving children's drawings duking it out.
Here's some gameplay of the PAL version:

Also, I believe Sin & Punishment isn't hard to play without knowledge of Japanese, but I'd let somebody else confirm that.
