RROD + xbox.com = No Help :

Post by h8b1llg8ts »

I'm on my second Xbox and now second RROD. I understand MS has changed their policy and are now making you provide your own coffin and download the shipping label. But has anyone had any problems not being able to download the label? I've tried for the past week with no luck. I've tried different computers, browsers, Mac's, Firefox, ect. And too many calls to MS to care to mention.

Now that I'm going out of town for a week's vacation I was hoping to have my xbox on my front porch when I got back but now it looks like I have to request a shipping label to be mailed instead.

I just want to hear that I'm not alone right now ...

I've never heard of an X-Box having problems like this. I don't think they've been under warranty since they were discontinued in 2005(2006?).

Yeah... I couldn't resist. Other than that, sorry, the only advice that I have is to be patient. Possible suing Microsoft is also a viable option.

I assumed you tried what I'm sure M$ expects everyone to use - Explorer.

Can you do a Print Screen on the label? Or just write it out on the "coffin?" Even if you have to pay the price of shipping isn't it worth saving the price of a third 360?

Also - do you know how they fix it? Are they able to recover any information on the hard drive?

I never had any problems opening the label in the browser and clicking the print button on the upper taskbar with firefox. Also, provide you own box on the way there and keep the custom fitted one they send you back for the inevitable next RROD. That's what I do.

Solution found after the 4th call. I ship out and they send me a brand new wireless remote. And since my company already has a UPS accounting shipping seems to be on the house either way ...
