Michael Jackson's Moonwalker prices rise dramatically lately

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Are Sonic 3 prices going to skyrocket too?

He's not quite as big a deal as MJ was, so I'm not sure if his stuff is worth much.
Not a big deal?

NOT A BIG DEAL?

Who in the flying fuck is going to sell me my Super Putty? Who'll advertise my OxyClean? Who the hell is going to show me how easily it is to clean the lime and rust stains from my bathroom with Kaboom?!?!

By the beard of Billy Mays, not a big deal?!

Michael Jackson may be an icon, but Billy Mays is a GOD!!! 8)

I thought that MJ didn't do the music for Sonic 3, so why would it go up?

I don't think so, mainly for two reasons.

1. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is a common game. Even if everyone wanted to get their hands on a copy, the fact that the game is easy to get is going to keep the price down.

2. Michael doing the soundtrack for the game is a pretty obscure piece of trivia that your average MJ or Sonic fan doesn't know.

I can see the prices possibly going up, but nowhere as high as Moon Walker.

It's a bit of a mystery actually. Some of the songs in the game are extremely close to his songs, which would make it seem more like whoever made the music was "inspired" by michael jackson. But the song in the credits goes almost exactly with one of his songs. . . which wasn't released til 1996, 3 years after sonic 3 came out.

Frankly I think the most likely explanation is that he did some music for the game, then the whole mj scandal broke, and sega didn't want to be connected to it so they modified the music somehow, or just pulled it out and whoever rewrote it left influences of his stuff in. But the credits music is so close I think it proves he had some connection to the game at some point.

I wonder what would have happened to the price of my Metal Gear Solid: the Twin Snakes if Hideo Kojima had died right after MGS4 was published.

I just said he wasn't AS big a deal as MJ, I wasn't saying he wasn't important.

LOL, that's funny stuff.

You know, we've lost Billy Mays and Wayne Allwine this year and Don LaFontaine last year. All guys whose voices are well known in our pop culture. Kind of sad.

Brintey's Dance Beat for PS2 will skyrocket in 10 years, when she OD's on Yoddles.
