Saitama has some good roads, but nothing beats Gunma. I went to Gunma last month for the first time just to finally take a shot at Mount Haruna.

Heh heh, I sell cars to avoid shaken, except for the skyline. I just paid 200,000 yen 2 months ago for shaken and taxes. I've been thru 4 kei cars in the past year to avoid shaken. I'm getting rid of my current one soon cuz shaken is due in OCtober.
No... not western Saitama. SOUTHEASTERN Saitama.

I sold the DC5, so now I just have an R32 GT-R and a Subaru Pleo. Here is my R32.
The 2nd pic is my friends and I waiting for battles up in the mountain roads.

Apperently the USA does like to gut fast imports, but then again a Ford Mustang or Camero has more HP stock than a stock GTR. Funny isnt it.

I do like imports, but i if i brought a bunch of cash with me to japan, i would have some to bring good ol American enginuity to japan. If i had to pick a classic muscle car, it would be a ZR1 Corvette or the 3 gen Stingrays. I just really like them.

I couldnt really take anyone out on the passes, but Shuto and Wangan expressways, it will have the HP to take or match most cars depending... if i dont get caught first... 8)

I went to check out Video Games New York the other day. I was not impressed. Their selection isn't that great and the prices were awful. Store was cramped as all hell too.

More than anything, these shots make me angry at how badly western gamers treat their stuff (and the piss-poor condition 99% of stuff on eBay is).

Well, that all depends on which models you are comparing. Remember that due to the gentleman's agreement in Japan (which ended earlier this decade), Japanese car companies were not allowed to post horsepower ratings above 276HP. The GTR has well over 276HP stock, but due to restrictions, they were only allowed to say 276. For example, a stock 1990 Skyline GT-R has a 315 horsepower. A 1990 Mustang GT has 225HP. A 1990 Stock Camaro Z28 has 250. Even at the Gentleman's Agreement rating, the GT-R still has them beat.

BTW, seeing American muscle cars here is not rare. I see several per day. I see a lot of 60s Impalas, Mustangs, Novas, Chargers, etc. American cars here are more of a fashion accesory than a mode of transportation. There are tons of used car lots that sell old American cars.

I wouldn't underestimate the guys of the Wangan and Shuto. I've seen Ferraris and Lambos get smoked by RX7s, Supras, Skylines, and even Silvias.

Crap, seriously? I see they dont mess around. Well, im sure you can cram 1000 HP in an RX7, it is capable of having two turbines. Also, i guess its not really much the car, but the driver. If you cant accel your Ferrari or Lambo the right way, then you cant utilize the cars potential, compared to people who know that Expressway and their car better than anyone else.

I didnt know if Japan was gung ho about just thier vehicles only and not so much from america. I guess Import craze is just as popular there as it is here.

So due to the Gentlemans agreement, i could drive a stock/souped up GTR as long as i just say its at 276 HP. Mmm, interesting...

Yep, they don't mess around here. American tuners are all about raw power and huge amounts or torque. Japanese tuners are all about using technology to max out the power of their cars. I used to have an Impreza WRX before the Skyline, and I upped the horsepower by 40 just by reprogramming the ECU with a laptop and a pirated copy of a remapping application. You're right, it is ALL driver on the Wangon/Shuto.

The gentleman's agreement is over. IT ended a few years ago. And which company did it? Honda. In Japan, Toyota and Nissan have been the kings of stock horsepower, so when it was Honda that defied the gentleman's agreement with the latest Honda Legend (Acura RL in the states), everybody shat a brick!

Another note is the fact that american cars weigh more than japanese. Sure, a Chevy Camero may have more HP than a GTR, but which weighs more, the Camero.

I had a guy tell me that by adding a program from the Chevy website, i can pretty much increase my 1500 silverado gas mileage as well as add more HP, just by updating the ECU in the truck. This was some ATT customer that i talked to a couple of months ago (my job is ATT customer service) and it went from his phone issue to vehicles...
