Unconnectable

Post by SpaceBooger »

I am a member of a couple private torrent sites and have good ratios: 1.8 to 4.32
But everything I seed is listed as "Unconnectable"
Is it important to be Connectable?
and since I have an ATT Motorola router, I dont think I can change many of the settings they ask. I remember when setting up my wireless router with it, I had to call and have them go into my router and change something, they wouldn't give me the password to do that.

I am guessing you are on bitgamer or underground gamer

I am always not connectable , but I can download and upload. I think when you are connectable it makes things much easier and faster but its too complex for me really to do all tinkering. It works fine now...

We have service through AT&T and I was able to change settings on the router. Though we have a 2WIRE router for our service (U-Verse).

All you really need to do is make sure you have port forwarding enabled (on the router) for the specific ports you need to use. You'll then need to adjust firewall settings on your computer. It's really not too difficult.

You can find lots of tutorials on port forwarding by just googling it.

I've never used Att internet so I could be asking a dumb question, but did they give you a router or just a modem? Afaik you shouldn't have to do anything with the equipment from the isp, just set up port forwarding on your own router.

Alright, you shouldn't have too hard a time getting things set up then. What you need to do is set up port forwarding. First find out the ip address and password for your router, it should be in the manual or online. Then follow part 2 of this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/223583 , then make sure you set your torrent client to use the same ports.
