No more gameshark to ruin the cart slot, and not having enough memory!
I pick it up today, (found it on craigslist and called him yesterday about it). Anyway, could somebody give me some info, am I going to have to transfer saves like the Gameshark (ugh) or will it just seem to expand the built in mem?
It's a separate memory device. So you are given the option of saving to either the cart or to the onboard memory, and can freely transfer saves between the two on the system menu.
Please be aware, though, that the saving to the cart can be sketchy at times, and some games do not let you choose your save slot. They instead go by whatever the save was loaded on. I got burned on Shining Force III because it always saves to wherever you loaded your game from, and I got no indication that the times it was trying to save to the cart it was actually failing. Turns out the cart was dying on my anyhow, but now I do all my saves on the console and use the (new) cart for archival purposes.
Basically, treat it like the Backup cart for the Sega CD.

Well as long as its easier and less tedius than the Gameshark im fine. The most annoying thing is playing games like SimCity 2000 and Sega Touring Car which take up around 300 blocks. Those are the games that are going on the cart, the rest fit nice and easy into the system. W/o NiGHTS and those 2 games I have 200 blocks left, plenty for any game thats not a memory whore.
My find of the day isn't exactly a game, but its definitely for games! Got a 40' 1080p Proscan Flatscreen TV for only $450! At Best Buy no less! I had been checking the site everyday, and apparently they were going like hotcakes to the point that they weren't going to deliver it in my area. I finally got pissed off and be damned if I didn't get a TV of SOME sort today. I get up there and talk with the Geek Squad guys (Graduated with one of them), and we looked around... and there it was, on display. "It's display and you get 10% off (of $500), do you still want it?" "...Seriously? ....YES!!!"
Considering I paid about $750 for a Samsung 42' 720p, this was, in my mind, a friggin' STEAL. And I'm gonna have every single console I have hooked up to it! >:D
(Sorry, just really really really excited!)

Nice. Though if you're going to run old consoles on it I'd recommend you get an XRGB-3 to upscale them nicely and put things into the VGA port. I've found that HD TVs handle old stuff better when it comes on the VGA port.

Stopped by a pawn shop that was going out of business and got this lot for 25 bucks. I know most are sports games, but as I am trying to complete the entire Nintendo 64 collection this was perfect cause i actually didn't have any of these games. And there are some pretty rare ones in the lot, Strider and Battle Squadron are worth 20 a piece and they were CIB.
