I have been replaying LOZ for fun for the last month. I don't have a lot of time to play lately because I have been preparing to move. Got to the last dungeon, packed up the NES, hooked it back up in the new place, my file was GONE! Sucks!! I even took the game out of the console so that it would be safer during the move.
Just venting my rage a little...
Moving sucks for Zelda
Re: Moving sucks for Zelda
Yeah, I remember that happening a lot back in the day. Also, it didn't ever seem to happen early in the game, it was always in the upper half of 50%. Zelda 2 was probably the worst, I think I half played the game about 24 times.

I hate to say it, but I think I will be playing the Zelda collector's edition versions on the gamecube from now on. I can't deal with the heartache.Dylan wrote:Yeah, I remember that happening a lot back in the day. Also, it didn't ever seem to happen early in the game, it was always in the upper half of 50%. Yeah, that's why I tend to use emulators a lot. I still own Zelda, but Lord knows my NES is getting really old. I'm afraid that my old hardware just gets progressively more burnt out as I use it.
Re: Moving sucks for Zelda
Only password games on old hardware, kids.
Re: Moving sucks for Zelda
I don't know, I always thought that games with good save support (Final Fantasy) Were awesome and way ahead of their time. I guess the technology wasn't quite ready, though. On the other hand, I swear my passwords always got messed up somehow, or they just took too long to enter. So, pick your poison, old games for the most part were meant to be beaten in one sitting.

Same thing happened to me with LoZ: ALttP just recently. I started it up again after finishing OoT... again. ALttP is soooo much better, it almost breaks my heart. The only thing OoT really has going for it is the whole 3D thing, really. ALttP just has so much more variety, so much more going on. Aw well.
Re: Moving sucks for Zelda
I think that that's a little unfair. It's always difficult to compare 2 of the greatest games ever made, but they both play much differently. You don't fight enemies or solve puzzles the same way in either game, making 2 unique experiences. But if the whole 3D thing didn't tickle your fancy, then it's no surprise you preferred Lttp.LCDSCREEN wrote:Same thing happened to me with LoZ: ALttP just recently. I never had a issue with losing saves back in the day. I guess certain print runs had issues and others didn't.
