These are all really good, that ICO music really makes me want to play that game

Yeah damn me too. I had been eyeing it awhile ago when it was around $20-25...now it has crept up to $35-40 range, yikes. I guess I'll be making use of the modchip.

I've really been digging Eternity (the boss theme) from Blue Dragon. It's a song that the first time you hear it's very jarring, but it grows on you. Plus, it sounds like Deep Purple meets The Black Mages. And then I rage out when I see one of the idiots on GameFAQs mention how "he sounds like Jack Black" while referring to Ian Gillan.

Most all of the music from Tetrisphere on the N64 was phenomenal. Strong Aphex Twin and Prodigy influences:



I'm a big fan of the music from the original Metroid. It had a minimal creepiness to it that just added to the feeling of being isolated on a planet overrun with metroids and strange space critters.

Good call on ICO as well. I love when that music kicks in.

I also love the music to Persona 3 and 4. You hear it over and over throughout the game, so it's pretty amazing that I never grew bored with it and started to hate it:

^I find Persona 3 music really cool but it repeats too much because each localitation has one theme and you must go to school every single day. However in FES you can change Tartarus BGM which is pretty cool.

I like wipeout music for the saturn, you can even put it into your cd player and play it just like a normal cd

mega man 2 has got to be the game with my favorite music... every song is great! there's a capcom 20th anniversary edition (i think 20th?) that has some rerecorded songs from various megaman games. if you find blips and bloops annoying, i recommend the rearranged versions! also, the band minibosses has a great medley of mega man 2 songs, which i think is on their album titled "brass".

super mario 64 and legend of zelda: ocarina of time are both also quite amazing. i recommend downloading a fan-made rip of these since they include things not on the cd versions (depending on which cd version you buy, i guess).

also, underground gamer is a pretty good place for video game soundtracks. i went on a downloading binge about 2 years ago and only in recent months have i got around to listening to any of them. recommended!
