GH & Rock Band's presence at retail is pretty disgusting...

Oh, and don't forget DJ Hero. Surely there will be some third party disc doo-hickeys for that, and all the junk accessories.

then DJ Hero 2 will come out with some new DJ Controller that blows the old one out of the water, and all new accessories to go with it.

The only reason they make this stuff is because stupid people buy it. It is sickening.

Every time I look at DJ Hero I think that we already did this 10 years ago and called it Beatmania. Rock Band/Guitar Hero overtook Guitar Freaks/Drum Mania due to the localized soundtracks, but I can imagine that the music for DJ Hero is going to get old fast, just like ITG's soundtrack.

That's what I think every time I go to the arcade.Konami came up with all of these music games first, but they came out with them at the wrong time.IMO EA has way too much of a monopoly.I do like to play Rock Band/Guitar Hero, but it is getting crazy with the fog machines & guitar bags.I seen that Rock Band TV show, why do they act like they are playing the real thing?

The fact that these games take up so much space in retail hits at their core problem- they take up to much space in your house/apartment. I would like to own Rock Band, but I don't have anywhere I can put a fake drumset. I think peripherals will be the undoing of the Wii. You have to buy so much extra crap to play half the games, I don't know why people keep adding on more of that crap.

It's too bad DJ Hero is going to have buttons. I had hopes that it would use something like Serrato and actually teach you how to be a better DJ. Instead, it looks like it's going to basically be like Beatmania.

It's nice to see there are others out there who share my growing disgust for the series.

I still can't get over the fact that, to me at least, GH/RB is just an over priced and over glorified version of Simon from the 1970s. *flame shield up*

As much as I love Rock Band, its really getting bad. Last time I was at Wal-Mart, they had a whole row dedicated to RB/GH stuff. That store is littered with a bunch of band kits that provably won't get sold until they get clearance. Speaking of Guitar Hero, Activision is just flooding the market with a bunch of squeals/Spinoffs games. That kind of stuff will cause the Music Game market to slow down. I bet will might see a Music Video Game Crash. Harmonix is caught in the middle with Rock Band, an actually great series with a great platform model, DLC Songs. Their optional and they expand your experience. Hopefully we'll get some export feature to get some songs off of the new Beatles game. But DLC is the way to go, not more spinoffs and squeals.

Capitalism is a real bitch sometimes.

And that's why I'll grow out by hair and wear a beret like Che Guervara as I play my Sega Dreamcast.

(I'm not really anti-Capitalist; I'm just sorta nihlistic towards modern man. I personally believe that for Capitalism to work, there has to be an enormous rehaul of the educational system, so that people won't be dumb as fuck anymore. School also needs to incorporate economic and political responsibility into its curriculum in a way which actually respects the Founding Father's desires when they wrote the Constitution. Only then can we slowly move away from the Socialist elements we've been incorporating into American society. Basically, Capitalism CAN work, it's just that it's not working too well at the moment because people are too stupid to operate within the system effectively. Hence massive Guitar Hero displays, whilst children play horrendous Sonic the Hedgehog video games on a Nintendo system which say "Developed by Sega" on the box, but are actually developed by FUCKING SAMMY. I'm calmed now but soon people will think Beatmania is a DJ ripoff and I'm going to get mad. Really, really mad.

However I think it will be a flop because the music will suck.

Our Wal-Mart does have a bunch of the old Guitar Hero stuff on clearance, and it STILL sits on the shelves.

Only $70 for Guitar Hero 3 or Guitar Hero Aerosmith? Oh Boy, where do I sign up? </sarcasm>

you're freaking kidding me, DJ hero???

As if the software out today doesn't make it easy enough to re-mix music on your own. Good lord, I hope it fails miserably.
