Anyone enjoy it?

I love napple tale! You should give it a try. You could for sure get a "Back up" of this game, no probs

is it worth it without any knowledge of the Japanese language? I've read that it has some rpg elements that make it harder for non-Japanese speaking people. because i have really wanted to play it but that fact keeps me away. (note i don't usually like internet guides)

BoR is a beat-em up, not a platformer.

Super Magnetic Neo really harkens back to older-platformers that are very dependent on learning the mechanics and design of the game in order to survive. It's not as accessible as something like Sonic Adventure but it can be quite rewarding if you can get into it.

For Napple Tale you're better off just seeking out the soundtrack which is really well done. It has a charming art-style but it's hard to enjoy a game if you have to keep an FAQ nearby. It's also extremely easy to the point of boring and graphically it isn't all that great(maybe if it was 60 fps). Still a shame it never saw a US release.

For those who don't mind going back to very-retro platforming, Frogger 2 and Q Bert are worth a look on DC too.

The guys behind Wind & Water Puzzle Battles are developing a new 2D platformer inspired by the likes of Strider, Ninja Gaiden, and Shinobi. Looks like our woes here are over, thanks to a new commercial homebrew title (one I actually intend on buying -- don't get me wrong, I love shmups and puzzle games, but not enough to pay retail-level prices for them). It's called Little Ninja, you guys should check it out:
