TF2 is unplayable tonight. Probably will remain so until after the weekend. Between the million 10-14 year olds who have no interest in buying, nor the credit cards to do so, and the new patch which breaks the game until they fix all the issues they created (like every fucking patch they make), and the overall unmanageable server load for steam, this is just a colossal epic fail, like the other free weekends were. It really pisses me off when I can't play the game I legally own so that moochers can get a terrible example of steam's functionality.

Get ready to see shit like this all weekend.

Agreed. Valve likes when they get people drawn to their games obviously, but they can't handle the server load to justify the free weekend.

At least they should keep sort of "reserved slots" in their servers opened for the average amount of people playing when it was only paid play, and keep those slots reserved for us people who paid for the game. Let the rest fight over who can actually get in.

It's too bad you are getting booted from the servers, but I do like the free weekends. I wouldn't have bought Left 4 Dead if it wasn't for the recent trial and special they had for that game. Now it's one of my favorites on Steam.

I had a similar episode when they did the free UT3 a few weeks back. Took forever to get the initial download and by the time I got around to it the weekend was over.
