If Science Fiction is any indicator, REAL video games will mostly die out when virtual reality reaches its full potential. Think of the holodeck in Star Trek: The Next Generation, or that VR club in Minority Report. There will be hardly any consoles, actual games, controllers, game designers, game artists, programmers, etc. All these people will be unemployed and there will be no console wars. Instead you'll just go somewhere and have someone enter in a program based on whatever you specify
I doubt porn stars will even find work, if people can just whip up a pornographic fantasy in their virtual reality program.
This is why I get annoyed at how people keep wanting games to be more realistic. The day that happens, gaming will be dead.
Of course, this whole post probably sounds ridiculous but you never know.

I think many people will still want "unrealistic" games in the future

You will probably see more of a separation of realistic and unrealistic games.
