I can't compare this to any other Zeldas because this is the first one I ever played. So which Zelda is your favorite?
my favorites are:
1.a link to the past
2.ocarina of time
3.wind waker
4.twilight princess.
but a link to the past never get boring. 8)
I'm one of a handful i think that consider Wind Waker te best Zelda of all time. Not only that, I find it my fav game of all time. Link to the past is close second.

Plus I never have an issue forgetting about my life since that annoying beeping when you get to low.
Yep. I recall using three potions, and one fairie as a failsafe.

When I first played WW I said to myself "Wow. This might be the best game ever." BUT at the same time, I couldn't de-throne A Link To The Past.

Over the weekend, I completed the Ice Palace dungeon and am now in Misery Mire (dungeon #6). It took me awhile to find the entrance to get in. I was going over the surrounding areas multiple times. Finally I was using the bird to take me to another area and noticed a location in the bottom left corner. Once taken there, I was able to uncover the portal.

In the dungeons, I find that it helps to make a map that explains the strategies for a room and where certain things are so it's easier to go back there later. Anyone else take notes while playing the game?

never. No. I guess it's a good idea, but I feel like it would slow me down too much. Throw of my momentum.

Certain games are almost impossible without notes - ie Zork, but personally I do not.

I LOVED LTTP but Wind Waker actually felt like an epic adventure straight out of like Lord of the Rings or some crap. The scale... the sailing added to that. Some people complained but I loved it, it made the game real and made it feel massive. Though the size of the map is mostly open water I don't care, it still feels humongous. The art style, the fact that Link is a kid. I'm sorry to all fans who love adult Link but a grown man with tights looks kind of... never mind. I just prefer young Link. Gives him more of a struggle to overcome. When I played TP the world seemed so small and barricaded compared to WW. I rarely find fans that share my opinion.

I'm now at Gagnon's Tower and have battled him once unsuccessfully. I haven't figured out yet how to beat him. I'll try a couple more times before I look at a guide. I find those rooms that have a few rotating "laser eyeballs" that move on conveyer belts to be difficult to avoid. I'll have to work on my technique to be able to meet Gagnon without using up all of my life/magic potions.

I enjoyed the Turtle Rock dungeon. That one had some interesting puzzles.
