Wow. Really strange about the PS2 games. There are so many PS2 owners out there, many of them families or younger people just now playing these games. It doesn't matter if they're old. And the new machines just dropped to $99. It's probably a boon for Sony though. With the availability of used PS2 games dampened, the option of getting a PS3 will appear more appealing some people. Maybe they were able to pressure GS into this? That doesn't explain them dropping the other sections though.

I'm pretty sure this is Gamestop trying to clear out all of their inventory, and also to prevent anyone from trading in games that have little to no demand. This is their attempts to hopefully get rid of those PS2 Sports titles and not have to worry about future PS2 Sports titles as well.RadarScope1 wrote:Maybe they were able to pressure GS into this? I'm surprised no one else asked the question that first came to my mind when I read this post.
If GS is going to stop selling these platforms what are they going to fill in the rest of the store with?
Since, PSP GO is going digital and Nintendo DSi is partly going that way too. That leaves 360, PS3, and Wii to fill their stores. Along with varies DS and PSP games still left. Not much to fill space with. Especially, for those metro area GS like mine. Where I have 10 - 15 GS within a 10 mile radius.

If anything, hopefully soon the place wont be so claustrophobic causing. Ive only been a handful of EBs that didnt feel as big as a closet, and that is all we have in my area - sans one.

It's evolve or die in the business world.
The word from corporate is that we may see a completely new piece of hardware before the year is up as well.
Also, 90% of all DS & PSP games are still gonna get hard copy treatment the DLC stuff is mostly for niche titles, or minigames etc...
My Consoles:

The Hell? Nobody's been announcing new hardware, at least as far as I know. Did I miss something? Can you give us any info? Some kind of console or handheld, or what?Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:The word from corporate is that we may see a completely new piece of hardware before the year is up as well.

There have been rumors of Ipod Touch and netbooks at Gamestop recently. But I must confess it has been several days since I looked into the rumormill

Wait, so they don't stock shit for PC gamers, but they're willing to sell their souls to the almighty Apple? Fuck them.fast wrote:There have been rumors of Ipod Touch and netbooks at Gamestop recently. But I must confess it has been several days since I looked into the rumormill

Remember they sold Zunes for awhile.

Yeah, but I figured that was partly because they were already working with Microsoft for the Xbox.fast wrote:Remember they sold Zunes for awhile.
