Test Drive Unlimited PC problem

Post by nick944 »

I just got the game today, love the game, but if I exit out and come back to it later everything is overexposed. If the refresh rate is set to 60 switching to 75 fixes it and vice versa. What could be causing this? All my drivers are up to date. Game settings Res:1440x900, 4xAA, HDR, High Detail. Graphics card is a Powercolor Radeon HD 4670 1GB.

Disable HDR and see if it re-occurs.

Seems fine without HDR. Thanks! What does HDR do? Also, I added someone as a friend online, yet I can't seem to find a friend list anywhere in the game, do you know where the friend list is?

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It basically simulates how our eyes react to changes in light levels. IE Overexposure with a lot of light in the scene and and increase in contrast when there isn't a lot of light.

Or, to describe it in another way, it is at least 100 times brighter outside than it is inside. But you don't really notice the difference unless you are directly contrasting the two, i.e. you're in a hallway staring out at a bright sunny day.
