Getting logged out is increasing in frequency for my account again. Just reporting here so folks are aware this is still a cyclic issue.

I just wanted to point out that Xeogred mentioned losing a large post in the DOOM thread due to the issue with staying logged in. Now I'm wondering if this issue is hurting forum participation, which has been pretty low these past few weeks.

To anyone having the issue which is affecting their ability to post... You can Ctrl+A (select all) then Ctrl+C (copy) you post before hitting the Submit button. That way if you're logged out, you wont lose the post. Just log in, then Ctrl+V (paste) you post back. While I haven't had a recent issue with staying logged in, like some of you are having, I have had issues in the past with losing long winded posts. That's why I started doing this for longer posts I make, and it may be useful for even shorter posts for those that are having this issue right now.

I forget if it's already been mentioned... Those that are having the issue, have you tried clearing your cache/cookies for this site?

I do the copy / paste too on long posts just to be safe. Even use notepad to write posts sometimes if I need to come back to it later.

I just realize all the BST threads are gone. I can't find mine anymore, marurun's is a dead link. Are those all gone forever?

A whole chunk of them did disappear when the server upgraded. That was when RB was struggling to get the database size down for the new host.

FYI. the last few weeks we had a LOT of agressive bot scrapping. (about 4 million bots per 24 hours).
I've been working on fine-tuning some firewall and caching work and I think I've got things working smoother than ever.
(ChatGPT has been walking me through a lot of great recommendations for the Wordpress/phpbb combo)
Hopefully, things are smooth for you, but you'll likely see ocassional Cloudflare checks -- especially if you use a bookmark for "New Posts" or something.
But for me laterly, the site has been extra snappy and the server RAM usage is possibly at an all-time low in production use.

I just had an incredibly hard time logging into the website. It would reject me and say something about the form being invalid.

Also, I am being banned on a regular basis.

To be honest, it is getting really hard to use the forums. Is there any way that some of these issues can be worked on??

Sorry for the post and tone.

**EDIT** Now it looks like reading posts is broken. I go to read unread posts, click on a topic, go back to unread posts and it still says I haven't read it even after a refresh. Also, it looks like I haven't even posted on here or that my post is not going through.

Forums seem to be pretty snappy for me. Thanks for your tireless work, Racket.
I haven't personally seen much of the ban message lately, either.

I was encountering a weird thing today where some threads seem to randomly change the theme to the light theme (both logged in and logged out) despite everything usually being dark themed. That could partly just be some weird interaction with my browser setting, but I've never seen it happen before, and haven't changed anything in my browser that recently.

Edit: I guess I can also confirm what Markies was saying. I'm noticing some real weirdness with thread information updating. One minute, active threads is showing information that looks like it hasn't been updated in a couple hours, and a couple refreshes later, it's showing everything read, while missing an update to a thread entirely. Info on the main forum page doesn't seem to be updated with new post details either--.

I think the last 48 hours has been working some weird caching issues out. I had a phase where things were getting aggressively cached (like for a while my home page always looked like i was logged out even if I wasn't), but I had to dial that caching down. Hopefully, it's improving.

I'm not sure what you're referring to by "reading posts" exactly.
