Advice on fixing gamecube controllers

Hi there! I’m a noob at fixing controllers or really any video game related items. Therefore, I’m looking for advice. Are there any ready made kits that you all recommend for fixing the Wavebird gamecube controllers? Or is it just better to follow the YouTube tutorials and buy separately whatever they recommend in the video?
