If y'all have seen this new Saroo ODE for Saturn, definitely check it out. I have a Fenir, so I won't be getting it, but while its compatibility is a work in progress, it doesn't require removing a functional CD drive, and it's MUCH cheaper than Fenir or MODE at just $60 (depending on where you buy it).

Take a peek at TimeExtension's review.

Thanks for mentioning the Saroo. I've been eyeing it, and thinking about building or buying one at some point.

So with the MODE or Fenrir, they replace the optical drive entirely. Which is great if your optical drive is broken, but not so great if it still works but you want a solid state method for loading games. There's the Satiator, which plugs into the Saturn's rear expansion slot, but it's a pretty pricey device. And that's why I think the Saroo is awesome. It's an ODE alternative that isn't crazy expensive.

Yeah, not wanting to damage or throw out a functional disc drive on an old system is why I paid extra to buy an XPort for my 3DO.
