Re: The Wrestling Thread
What's interesting about the TNA cross promotion is that they are using this to build up Roxane Perez in order to ultimately feed her to Giulia. She'll brag about she beat everyone in NXT, then beat the best that TNA had to offer. She'll say no one can beat her...then we'll hear Giulia's music as she makes her debut

Yeah, things are changing. I really think a lot of it goes back to AEW coming into existence. I'm not the only saying this either. I've seen some stuff online from other people saying this as well. For all the criticism AEW gets, some of it from me, they have actually changed pro wrestling.Reprise wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 4:56 amYeah, that has to be intentional. They know it will get a response and have people talking. I guess it's relevant as he only left AEW earlier this month. It makes things exciting, especially if they almost name drop the company.Raging Justice wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 4:48 amI'm still trying to wrap my head around them nearly name dropping AEW on live TV when he debuted. That was not by accident.
"Wasn't he in AE..."
Man, it would be wild if we ever got some real WWE TNA and AEW cross promotion shows. It'll probably happen in years and years once AEW has been "humbled" like TNA has been. I like TNA, but it's not like this is 2005-2012 TNA when they were actually big.
Edit: It'll be interesting if Nic Nemeth shows up in WWE![]()
Actually this reminds me of when WWE worked with ECW when they were at war with WCW. "We'll get one up on our competition by working with the third biggest promotion".
I still think it's crazy how much WWE changed under Vince and how stubborn he became in the latter years.
Man, if Bray Wyatt was still alive, imagine how amazing a Bray vs Malakai Black program could be. This Brood Edge vs Malakai feud, as fun as it's been, is only hinting at how amazing Wyatt vs Black could have been.
Check out these cool TNA figures:

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I love that TNA does figures still. I wouldn't mind picking up some TNA, AEW and WWE figures some time. It would take me back to the 90s when my friends and I used to play with the old WWF and WCW ones.

I just read an interesting theory. Ethan Page hasn't signed with WWE/NXT, he's signed with TNA and he's a mole!
I don't think it's true, but it's cool how interesting and exciting this partnership is. Convenient timing too with the road to Forbidden Door in AEW starting tonight.

Maybe I'm heading into crazy, conspiracy territory, but it really does feel like the two companies are mirroring each other. You pointed out how that pwtorch article was saying this as well. The other interesting thing about the TNA partnership is that they've recently picked up both ex-WWE talent and ex-AEW talent as well.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
This was a VERY strong episode of Dynamite, coming off of a pretty surprising episode of NXT.
I actually kind of feel like watching TNA tomorrow night now just to see if they can keep the week's momentum going

I feel alone on this, but... I don't like The Acclaimed anymore. "Who writes this shit?" to quote a hostile fan
I watched the TNT championship segment and thought is the Acclaimed seriously the best they could come up with to come back up Christopher Daniels? Edit: I did like the segment overall though. Okada is hilarious.
Otherwise, nitpicking aside, it seemed like a good episode and I am intrigued to see who ultimately becomes the TNT Championship.

Yeah, The Acclaimed have been lame and directionless for some time now and I didn't understand why it was them who came outReprise wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 3:00 am I feel alone on this, but... Okada has been way better than I think anyone expected, and I can't believe have perfectly him and Perry have gelled with The Young Bucks
Re: The Wrestling Thread
Wait... It's Ospreay vs Swerve at Forbidden Door? Holy shit. Have they pivoted from original plans or was that always the plan?
I don't know who I thought would be the challenger, but I assumed at a minimum they would save Ospreay for All In, if not later.
Edit: So what are we looking at as we head to All In? Hmm.
Potentially, Ospreay takes the title off Swerve at Forbidden Door, in which case, I will say Swerve's reign has been pretty damn bad and he comes off looking like nothing but a transitional champion. But that would probably mean the main event at Wembley would be Ospreay vs MJF for the title, which on paper is awesome.
That said, Ospreay winning the title at Wembley would be a better feel good moment, since he's British. So perhaps there will be shenanigans, maybe involving the Don Callis family and Swerve retains. Then it sets up a rematch at Wembley.
Or maybe Ospreay won't be in the title picture at Wembley at all. He is supposed to be elevating the International championship and making it truly International afterall. But having him lose to Swerve might hurt him, perhaps. Don't know.
This is why I wonder if they have pivoted from original plans, whether it's due to declining ratings or Adam Copeland's injury or a combination of factors. Who knows though.
