Are you referring to me in that image? If so, you are not wrong.

Why WBD does not want to sign with WWE because of CM Punk?
Haha no, LA Knight. It's just a lot of fans act like he is this young up and comer, and he dresses like he's young, when the dude looks and quite noticeably is well into his 40s. Don't know why it makes me think that, lots of wrestlers are in their 40s, but LA Knight just looks noticeably old and like he's dressing younger than his age to me. Like he's in cosplay.

No, opposite. ALLEGEDLY (according to Meltzer and other rumour gossipers) WWE had talks with WBD regarding media rights earlier this year that had cooled off, but they have heated up again since WWE signed Punk.

Fightful seem to think there's not a whole lot of truth in the story though, it would seem.

Fightful reports that there are no longer any plans between AEW and Mercedes to bring her in, so I guess she's going back to WWE. No doubt she will return at the Rumble if a return is on the cards. I am guessing that's when and where Jade Cargill will debut too, but I could be wrong.

Edit: Damn, I forgot to mention that Kenny is also seriously hurt and will be out for some considerable time. Out indefinitely even. That seriously sucks.

Women's wrestling is in kind of a sad state right now. Stardom's having issues and AEW's women's division is going nowhere. Things are a bit better in WWE but there's no meaningful feuds for the current champions and everything WWE does lately just seems to revolve around keeping everything in a holding pattern. No progress is actually happening with anything creatively in that company. If feels like everyone who currently has a major title is gonna keep it until the suns burns out in the sky. WWE matches are starting to feel as meaningless as AEW matches.

Both companies are stale right now.

I read somewhere that Stardom was doing an investigation into recent injuries. I thought the idea of doing an investigation sounded ridiculous until I saw just how many girls have been on the shelf this year. It's pretty crazy:

I've heard NJPW is pulling back a bit on women's wrestling. So I guess if you're Sasha Banks, WWE is really the only sensible place to go right now.

I’m heading to a taping of AEW Collision of January 6. What should I be watching out for? Also, should I make a “Racketboy: The Wrestling Thread” sign to bring with me?

(This thread and talking with my brother are the only ways I keep up with wrestling now.)

Haha please do! I'd laugh my ass off

Have a good time! Hope it's a good show. I'd love to go to a wrestling show some time, I have never been to one.

LA Knight is 41 according to wikipedia but older wrestlers cans till make money. Hogan I think was 40 when turned into Hollywood Hogan. Rocky Miavia pro wrestling career was about only 10 years, 95-2005 or so. So yeah, La Knight still have time to make cash for himself and the company.

I agree.

The wrestling business has so many talents. It's a revolving door. So I don't see any reason not to push a guy just because he's in his forties. Even if you only get a few years out of him, that's a few years that you (and him) made some good money. Then you simply push the next guy who is popular. There's no reason not to give a guy a chance even if he's a bit older.

Yeah, just like people thought WWE were dropping clues about Punk returning, I have seen a few people saying they have been dropping similar clues about Sasha.

Off topic, but something that relates to wider discussions we have had on the forum about physical media, preservation and the pros and cons of an all digital future... WWE recently announced that they will cease all DVD and Blu-Ray releases and productions. As a casual collector of wrestling DVDs and Blu-rays, it's quite sad in my opinion. It isn't unexpected (they already ceased physical releases in some regions) and was inevitable, but I'd think there is still a place for physical collectors. They seem to sell well on Amazon. It's a shame. Especially as they tend to chop and edit PPVs (I swear I will never call them PLEs) on the Network. The old UK ECW DVD releases are a good example, since they are uncut and feature all the original entrance music (such as Walk, Enter Sandman etc) that got cut on the Network.

I have a good number of WWE, WCW, ECW, NJPW, ROH, TNA and AEW dvds and blu-rays I have bought over the years that I like to watch. I just like having physical media for whatever reason. AEW just released four new DVDS (All Out 2022 - Double or Nothing 2023), which I received this week and have started watching. It's my first time watching All Out and Full Gear 2022, since I had stopped watching AEW at that point and was watching more WWE. AEW only releases PPVs on DVD. It's a shame they have never done any 'year one', 'year two', 'best of Dynamite', 'best of insert individual wrestler' etc style DVDs, but I guess it's a sign of the times really and I am lucky they have done any DVD releases at all.
