Honestly, the most mystifying thing about the whole REPO Man discourse is why anyone would want to live in a large American city, let alone NYC.

Most people don’t live in a large American city. They live in the burbs and commute for work, because American cities aren’t designed to be lived in.

I will say, though, there’s a lot to like living in or near a city as long as you pick one that matches your needs and pace. My city is decent. Has a lot of problems, but a lot of up-sides as well.

Yeah, I live in Atlanta, but it's a section that feels a lot more suburban. It's also the section of town with a heavy Jewish community, so lots of synagogues and kosher shops, so I'm happy to get latkes. I'm also a short ways away from where the Korean community is largely focused, so lots of fantastic Korean food.

I live in south Charlotte. We have two acres of woods and gardens with six-ish(?) acres of undeveloped (and un-developable) woods around us. Still, I can get to my high rise office building in 20 minutes, and I have easy access to a wide range of restaurants, museums, an opera company, several sports teams, running trails, video game bars, etc. There’s way more to do here than I could ever do, and all that stuffs for young people anyway. So…I end up spending most of my weekends just working on my property. (I’m about to head out and split some wood for a few hours…)

Off all day today.

Working every other day this week. The next two days got me working three-hour shifts at my morning job and then heading straight to Food Lion for an eight-hour shift.

My projector screen will be here Thursday.

I'll be working until 9pm that night.

An 11 hour and off by 9pm? Shoot, easy day.
