Hey I give at least 2 shits about other people and thats something that I'd never thought of, there are plenty games for the wii for that group of people that they can play without the need for using 10 buttons and 2 thumb sticks and thats great.

I have great faith in the wii also and I dont think the motion controls will be a fad - the fact that the PS3 also has them and that microsoft are working on something as well kind of confirms that. Apart from that the wii has got a great line up this year which is seriously making me postpone a PS3 purchase and I really do think the motion plus will make a big difference. The line up of games is already growing with Red Steel 2 confirmed as being compatible so it looks to me like it may really take of.

I do however think the plethora of middle aged people that are buying wii's to use wii fit or whatever, did get caught up in the marketing frenzy and sooner or later most of them will remeber that they dont actually like games that much - but what do I care? its their money and there are still plenty of core and inovative games being made for me.

I do not think motion control is a fad, i think it is the fad that is making the Wii sell. Once it exists out else where(360 ps3) then people will stop buying the Wii, cause the game library in all respect sucks next to the other two.

Now if Nintendo gets its act together, and push 3rd party developers to make "real" games , just as serious as they had with the Gamecube...a reason will still exist. I do not care for HD, but for god sakes , some one make use of the extra power in the Wii and some imagination with the wii mote

The Wario Land Shake It seemed to be something new as well as the Let's Tap game (which I don't think is out yet).

How would you like to see the wii-mote used, not bashing you, just more curious in how it could more imaginatively be used.

I remember when I first heard about the Wii, and Twilight Princess, I thought that each time I swung the Wii Remote, that Link would be able to mimic my own movements.

I'm sure the rest of us assumed the same.

There's also, ya know, this guy.

Here's just one guy, and yet he's done a hell of a lot more with the Wii's current technology than Nintendo or any of the companies developing games for it have.

Yeah I remember watching that video about a year ago and had forgotten about it. Certainly a lot of neat things that could be done with it, I guess Nintendo will first release Wii-Motion Plus and see how that improves/changes the gaming. The head tracking is very cool though and I'd like to see it done. I guess any company could do it. Like release their game with a stand, and a pair of glasses with infrared lights, and let it be known that 2 wiimotes are necessary for play.

molotov wars
those people working in the tech industry are not dull accountants
they are creative and young people, they have a big imagination.

I have to say I was impressed with WarioWare and Boom Blox and Red Steel is basically exactly the idea we had for Wii controls.
But There is a ton of things you can do if you used some imagination.
If you got an iPhone or someone with an iPhone you can see how creative people used it to create amazing software and games for the system.
From beer drinking, to blowing balls to fishing. The Wii mote has more input and motion than the iphone. As a matter of fact it was made just for gaming on the opposite of the the machine that was made for being a PDA.

Some imagination and creativity was used, but it was on the few number of games while the majority suck big time and others are not needed at all like in Mario Kart and Brawl.

I am not sure where you are coming from Kingmohd.

I have yet to play an Iphone game that I thought was amazing. Most of them are soso originals or ports/remakes – nothing that stood out as amazing.

Both of the games you mentioned that did not need motion controls offer many control options, including Gamecube controller. So while I understand your point, I am unsure why you chose those two. We could get into the whole debate about non remapable buttons on console games but that will get me on the wrong diatribe.

Again, I ask you, what is the console missing that makes the others libraries superior?

Maybe if Nintendo finally decided to start making more good first-party games again...

I'm sorry, but I don't think Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics counts as a good first party game.
Systems: SNES, PS1, GBA SP, Gamecube, DS Lite, Wii, PS3 (Fully Backwards Compatible), Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, a Sega CD, and a Sega Saturn.

I am not saying they are a bad games, I am saying that motion control is so unused that even big titles do not use it. yes they do control just fine with regular controllers. What is the problem with that?

Its simple, why do people buy Wii's and not gamecube? or ps3 or 360? Its not graphics power, or online play, I can bet you anything it is not for multiplayer gaming because 360 is on top of that. So what is it? It is because of motion control, and they are not using it . Only few games use that.

The library is lacking everything, whatever exists , exists in very low numbers and they are in the low score margin other than SOME 1st party games. Just compare between ps3/360 titles and wii and you will know. You don't even need to, compare it with the Gamecube, and you will see how many great titles were released for the gamecube like RE4 and zelda twilight princess.
I know your argument would be that those games are also available for the Wii. But what does it tell of this system, which 2 of its greatest releases are last generation games? And what does it tell you of the last generation console(gamecube)?

The Wii really lacks a lot of "real" games. Some exist, but they are not enough. I mean the choice is very narrow. The system is basically crapware/port system.

As for the iPhone, sure they are ports and remakes...but please do not forget its a phone playing those games! and in a very creative ways I believe, it is used much more creatively than the wii's control's.
