Obviously not. Aside from replacing the cord and/or the USB dongle, or just simply attaching the dongle directly to my PC, I can't figure out what to do.
As for pants, I have plenty of shorts and two pairs of black slacks for my job at Food Lion.

I'm imagining each pair of shorts as a pair of progressively baggier, longer jorts, until you get to your two pairs of jeans.

No, they're mostly just cargo shorts.
And as for the microphone, I've tried connecting it straight to the computer instead of through my USB hub. I've also tried connecting it to the audio jack on my computer. Neither solution worked.
I'm thinking it might be either the cord or USB adapter. Many of the reviews mention replacing the XLR to 3.5mm, some decry the included 3.5mm to USB adapter and some reviews, like this one from PaganLinuxGeek, mention how it'd benefit from something called "phantom power".

I've installed a couple of external sound cards for friends that provide phantom power over XLR patch cable. I'm still learning myself, and recently bought an XLR to 3.5mm adapter. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth transceiver I picked is not working. I will have to get a proper Bluetooth XLR transceiver device. They're expensive!

Reach out to the company on Amazon. You paid for the darned thing.

Are you using a laptop, or a desktop?REPO Man wrote:Got my microphone today and while trying it out...
There's this annoying squeal throughout the audio. I'm using only the stuff that came with the microphone (link here) and I'm currently trying to fix it in Audacity.
I tried Noise Reduction and set every slider to maximum and it kinda worked. Here's the before and here's the after.
If using a laptop, try unplugging it and running off battery. That noise sounds like it's at about 480Hz, which would be a harmonic of 60Hz AC power.
Try it both ways -- just unplugging the laptop from the cable and unplugging the cable from the wall.

Desktop.
What would phantom power do? Or would replacing the XLR to 3.5mm cable and/or USB dongle work?

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I tried to overlay the after with a music track (a chiptune cover of Where is my Mind by The Pixies). How does is sound?
It was tricky to find the right levels for both the music and the recording of my voice.

Just confirmed I'm flying to NYC in January. Going to meet a guy to buy a rare pair of Bapestas (Daft Punks). First time I'll ever go, I'm excited.
anyone have any advice for NYC?
