Burning Wii Games

Is it true that you need a specific model LG burner to copy Wii games? I don't want to burn ISOs which seems to work with any burner but copying the games I have isn't working.

You seem to have answered your own question here. http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/wii-mod ... games.html lists 4 different models that work, all LG's

Thats the answer I keep finding on forums too. It sucks because I already have a Sony DVD burner I don't want to buy another.

You can softmod your Wii and then rip the games over wifi. That's what I do, it works, but it can be pretty slow sometimes.

Can you do cube games that way as well Niode?

I am tempted to softmod a secondary wii just so I dont have to carry all real games to parties anymore...that was the last time I leave the bag anywhere near a flat surface. Lets just say, the smell of beer does not come out of dvd cases very well.

You can also put it into chunks on an sd card from the wii, then recombine them on a pc (though, depending on the size of your sd card, this can also take a while)

Use Softmii it gives you all the files needed and walks you through the necessary steps to downgrade and install the custom IOS required to rip Wii/GC games.
