Handed out candy. Not a bad turnout. Now I’m doing some catch-up work to get the week started. Happy Halloween y’all!

My roommates wanted to hand out candy and literally no one showed up. At least it means candy for the household.

We gave out movie-theater-size boxes of candy this year. We ran out around 7:30, but most trick ‘r treating in our neighborhood was over by then. (Only three unfortunate children were turned away after we turned out the lights.)

I've never had a trick or treater at my door, but I always light a jack o'lantern and have candy JUST IN CASE.

:D Broke out my Christmas playlist...

:x ...only to find that 9 tracks (all from the various Christmas Queens compilations) are greyed out and apparently even though I have Amazon Music Unlimited, I'm expected to buy those tracks. I literally got the Music Unlimited plan so I wouldn't have to constantly buy music! Talk about missing the whole goddamn point! And among the aforementioned tracks, I'm the most salty about losing Manila Luzon's "Slay Bells", which not only slaps but is an excellent track to listen to while wrapping presents. Plus the video's pretty funny, like when Manila eats a Ferrero Rocher and replaces it with a brussels sprout.

:) Definitely thinking about making homemade Christmas ornaments this year. Got a big-ass box of 25 clear baubles, some acrylic paint (red, green, white and glow-in-the-dark), some brushes and a paint palette.

I'm going to formally advocate for not pushing Christmas music on folks until after Thanksgiving. You can enjoy it yourself, but don't expect others to have to deal with it until that OTHER holiday is dispensed with.

This is one of the reasons I stopped going to stores and just got everything on Amazon.

I agree (and I live in a country that doesn't celebrate the latter unlike 95% of this board). I only heard "Last Christmas" once last year and it was quite literally just as I was talking to somebody about the fact I hadn't heard that song at all on the radio for once!
I feel like I have to retreat when anyone potentially knows me and any of those unforgivable shenanigans I refuse to own up to (because others' accounts of them are far more trustworthy).

On the rare occasion I do listen to holiday music, it’s usually on Pandora via the “Dean Martin (Holiday) Radio” station. I’d rather listen to the classic songs. And after Thanksgiving. We ain’t there yet.

Also maybe I’ll take the trip to the Rockefeller Tree this year. Visit the Nintendo Store. It’s been awhile.

You get to see the Rockefeller Tree in person AND you live near a Nintendo Store?

But seriously, at least I waited until after Halloween was over, and I had literally ZERO Halloween spirit!
