I knew that about zoomers I wanted to act dumb

Millennial myself. I was never into fashion (it feels weird saying it) until the pandemic hit.

When working an office job and wearing basically the same shit for years (slacks and a button down shirt that’s a shade of blue like any other — sweater during the winter), you tend to not really care too much outside of that little circle. And you can’t really veer off course with that because of the way office environment works.

Then the pandemic hit. Started with shoes and then snowballed from there.

I’ve had a fun time with collecting shit over the years: first it was Pokemon cards, video games, knives, flashlights (due to Sandy and not owning one prior), back to games, then it was Casio watches, whiskey, shoes, and lastly, clothing.

I’m a mess

Is pierrot still around? haven't heard from him in a while. There was another very active member here, Hobie-wan, did he have a farewell or just disappeared suddenly?

Hobie got out of retro gaming in general but got heavy into Warframe on Steam. I would occasionally talk to him there or hop in the game with him, but he was way better at it than I was.

Cool to see a few other people on the forum into clothing and sneakers too. I got into sneakers in the mid 90's originally from being a basketball fan, but didn't start buying a lot of pairs until the early 2000's when I had some income -- never got out of the hobby from that time. I'll try to dig up some of my favorite pairs and share some photos -- I'm mostly a Nike guy but I have some New Balance and a few other obscure brands in the mix. I'll try to take pics of some of my favorite tees too.

Yea I don't really collect shoes but I go for cool streetgoth wear. Simons is my favourite clothing chain (Canadian but I've been told some Americans order from there), By the R, Asclo, and Uniqlo.

I dress formal often too because I've been told that I can pull it off quite well.

If you have old stuff that doesn't fit anymore there's a chance I'm interested. I don't know why but I'm really getting into thrifting vintage stuff lately. Went to the goodwill outlet today and dig through the bins. There was a dude who literally hung out there every day so he could pull shirts for resale.

Please do share. Always like seeing other collections. I'm pretty much all Niked up (couple of Jordan runners and the one Converse boots). I "cheated" on Nike and got one pair of New Balance only because of a collaboration with one of my favorite japanese brands: Comme des Garçons.

What's the NB x CDG model? Is it the black 57/40 pair?

New Balance definitely has a lot of great models to offer, I slept on them for a long time but eventually came around. At the time I was getting into NB, their Made in USA / Made in UK pairs were cheaper than the Nike Air Max line but since then they've almost doubled in price. But other than the cost issue, I think they've made good strides in their revived basketball program and their collaborations to bolster popularity. They also recently hired Teddy Santis, the founder of Aime Leon Dore to be a creative director, which I think is going to pay big dividends for them. The 990 v6 coming out in 2022 looks really dope. But most importantly, their shoes are very comfortable and look good in the street!

The 574 x CDG HOMME. There are various end-of-the-season sales and I loved all black colorway with the mesh side panels.

My brother is big into NB. He’s a fan of their Fresh Foam lineup.

And the price increase is insane but expected. They’ve slowly become very popular over the last couple of years. With collabs like CDG and Junya Watanabe, high quality materials, oddball stuff like that one where they partnered with the MTA (metro system in NYC area for those that don’t know), and that bit of news you mentioned about Teddy Santis, it’s makes total sense.

They make some sleek stuff but their dad shoes are great. And dad stuff is in!
