I hate that you guys are able to just go over any random country to teach your mother tongue :)

Considering the relationship between Japan and Brazil, there's likely some kind of similar program in your home country. At least, it would make sense to me, since there's so much immigration between the two nations.

I found a site recommended by my university for setting up Korean, Japanese and Chinese teaching jobs. They seem prety resonable considering that they get paid on commission by the instiutions, therefore you don't need to pay money for them to haul you overseas. If you have any luck, let me know;

I will definitely be looking at that site and I'll also be going over to Hopkins (where I studied Japanese through a co-op program between Universities) to see if they have any site recommendations or anything they can contribute. I was also going to go over there to get the names of the Korean textbooks they use since I liked the ones we used in Japanese.

I found one site through eslcafe, and while the layout of the site is mediocre, its an American-run site and I guess it is run out of Chicago. That may be one option and I would call the guy whose name and contact number are on the site to speak to him directly (found him on Facebook as well if that counts for anything).

Oh yeah, millerjm2, when did you start applying? I'm going to be doing it now and in the next week or two, but I wanted to get an idea of I was someone applying late or early or what kind of time frame to expect.
