I'm disappointed that you didn't actually get to see how well the gun operates.

But yes, the original Odyssey was rediculously primitive. It was basically a more robust version of Pong, in that you could move the paddles in all four directions. A few games had some extra logic on the balls, but it was more of a "power of imagination" thing.

And those game carts? No actual programming on them. If you open them up you see they're just essentially a series of wires connecting some pins to other pins. Everything on the Odyssey was built in to the console. It wasn't until the Fairchild F that we had the ROM cartridge.

Exactly. If he didnt do it, he would lose views, and lose his paycheck.

Yes. And I like that paper. I think he acts well. ;D

I am huge fan of AVGN, but as of late his videos have kinda gotten lame IMO. I think after Superman 64 they started sucking, its like when you start doing something you love for money, the fun and enjoyment is gone and you don't put much effort into it.
And yes the "poop humor" does get old

I really like the Nerd's videos but I have to say this one was not good. His videos are funny because of the combination of well-thought jokes and over-the-top cursing. He has failed on the jokes part so the result is nowhere as good.

Perhaps the suckiness of the Odyseey was to much for him

But I envy him because he has one of those utterly useless consoles.

I first found out about AVGN when he reviewed the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for NES. I laughed my ass off at how frustrated he got by it, especially the point where there is a hole that you can't jump over, but you can walk over it. I wasted so much time in that same spot trying to figure it out and that game got me just as mad.

Unfortunately though, his videos now all just boil down to "Here's a crappy game! Fart, puke, poop! Fuck!".

Yeah, I agree that the entertainment value has definitely decreased. However, I absolutely laughed my ass off on the 2nd part of the Jaguar video. The part about the Jaguar CD was some of the funniest stuff I've seen from the AVGN.

It was better when he focused on a single game. Making videos about a console can be too much. Granted, it's not like the Odyssey needed many videos to explain its intricate games, but the Odyssey was pretty unremarkable anyway, aside from the fact that it was the first home console.

And I agree that the poop joke went way overboard. It didn't bother me when it was just some poopage at the end, but having a turd around making fart sounds the entire video is just annoying.
